Excellent essay by a Ukrainian journalist who has covered the US for 20 years. Two things stand out:

  1. The collapse of shared reality essential to a functioning society - a point made by Peter Pomerantsev in his books. “There is no longer a shared sense of what is true. I know first-hand that when facts are questioned, rather than verified and used to build common ground, it becomes harder to agree on even the most basic issues – including what the government is for.

Great realistic insights from Filip and the team at Koral

In commercializing sustainability, the team needs to:

  • learn marketing and sales' business objectives, and talk about how sustainability can help deliver them.

  • explore which of the customer's functional, emotional or social needs the company's sustainability work might already meet.

  • show how sustainability can sharpen the value proposition the company already has.

Stephan Hirschi Yes please! Start thinking in business terms and thereby determining your value and the contribution to economic success, and stop defending or proposing reasons for your existence. The sustainability world is evolving and the practitioners must do the same. May 7 1 like

Splendid advice about how each of us can serve as "trustees of others' time" rather an (usually unwittingly) selfish thieves. These recommendations not only ease the burdens that we heap on others, when teams and organizations live these them as collective norms, workplaces are more efficient, innovative, and humane. And people spend less time being pissed-off at their rude colleagues.

Seven Families Just Sued OpenAI and Sam Altman for $1 Billion Over the Tumbler Ridge School Shooting

The allegations are unproven. But what the complaint describes, and what OpenAI has already conceded, should concern anyone paying attention.

On February 10, 2026, an 18-year-old named Jesse Van Rootselaar killed her mother and half-brother in their home in Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia.

She then drove to the local secondary school and shot five children, ages 12 and 13, and a 39-year-old education assistant, before killing herself.

Matthew Kilkenny In China, Asia, or even the EU, these bad actors would be behind bars.

In the USA, their share price rises, even when they are found guilty and hit with a heavy fine.

Shouldn't we all be asking, "How is this possible?"
