24. AI - Strategic planning and leadership - Practice - David Monis-Weston

At a time when AI tools are increasingly present in education, school leaders are beginning to explore how large language models might support thinking, planning, and decision making alongside ongoing pressures around workload, safeguarding, and resourcing.

In this conversation with David Monis-Weston, the focus is on how AI can be used as a thinking partner rather than a replacement for professional judgement (see the first recording in this collection for a focus on theory). The discussion explores practical ways leaders might use AI to generate alternative perspectives, test ideas, and support scenario planning, while staying critically aware of its limitations and risks.

A key theme is caution and responsibility, including understanding bias, avoiding over reliance on generated responses, and being careful with sensitive data. The conversation also highlights safeguarding and data protection considerations, particularly around what is entered into AI systems and how that information may be stored or reused....

Year 7 is not a reset point

Photo by Håkon Grimstad on Unsplash

I have been having quite a few conversations about transition recently. I don’t mean transition as an administrative event or the spreadsheet passed from one school to another, or the meeting in July where information is exchanged about pupils. What I mean is the intellectual transition from one phase of education to the next.

And the more I think about it, the more convinced I am that one of the biggest risks at the end of Year 6 is that Year 7 becomes a reset point. Pupils arrive in secondary school having already spent seven years learning. They have read books, encountered ideas, built vocabulary, carried out investigations, written at length, made things, performed, argued, questioned and wondered. And yet secondary colleagues can sometimes be surprised by what pupils have already done.

The problem is that if we underestimate what pupils are bringing with them, we risk giving them less demanding work just at the point when we should be building on what they already know.

This is the inflection point people have been predicting, but it’s still jarring to see it land.
When near-frontier models are open, cheap, and abundant, the differentiator stops being the model and becomes:
– orchestration
– memory
– eval + reliability
– data freshness
– and the control plane around it all
Benchmarks matter, but production systems matter more.
We’re moving fast from “which model?” to “which system can actually scale, reason, and be trusted?”
That shift is already reshaping how enterprise AI platforms are being built.

AI Crawler Comparison 2026: GPTBot, ClaudeBot, Perplexity, Google, Grok & More

Overview: All AI crawlers at a glance

Every major AI platform operates its own web crawlers to collect content for training, knowledge updates or real-time search. These crawlers identify themselves via their user agent string and respect robots.txt – but beyond that, they differ significantly in crawl frequency, purpose, transparency and what they actually do with your content.

Core principle for all crawlers: They all respect robots.txt, read only the HTML source without JavaScript rendering (with partial exceptions) and prefer technically clean, fast websites. The differences lie in crawl frequency, purpose, whether they link back to your site and the degree of transparency each provider offers.

As of 2026, eight major AI crawlers are actively indexing the web. Understanding each one lets you make informed decisions about who gets access to your content – and who doesn't.

Flexeegile Extending Agile For AI & Data Teams

Flexeegile is my proposed extension to the well-established Agile framework, it aims to address the unique challenges posed by AI & Data projects in today’s complex computing environments.

Flexeegile, much like Agile, recognizes the value of the items on the right but considers the items on the left to be of higher value.

Flexeegile is not a replacement for Agile, but rather an observation and adaptation of Agile principles to suit the modern era of computing.

As one of the founders of the Agile Manifesto, puts it:

“Flexeegile is not replacing, but observing that the nature of computing is richer than it was in the era of Agile when it was about desktop computers. Agile is still as relevant as ever.”

Flexeegile recognizes that today’s computing landscape extends far beyond desktop applications, encompassing cloud computing, big data, machine and deep learning, and more....

Knowledge Graph Best Practices Guide | Data AI Hub

TL;DR

  • Start with use-case-driven modeling — define the questions your graph must answer before designing the full ontology. A knowledge graph is a semantic model; the graph database is just where you store it.
  • Entity resolution is non-negotiable — duplicate nodes destroy trust faster than missing data. Resolution is a platform capability, not an ETL afterthought.
  • Schema evolution is continuous — plan for additive changes, versioning, and backward-compatible migrations from day one. Ontology changes follow the same rigor as API versioning.
  • Data quality gates belong in the pipeline — validate at ingest with SHACL or constraints, not after users discover bad data in production.
  • Governance beats technology — assign stewards per domain, version ontologies in Git, and review schema changes like API changes. Neo4j, Stardog, GraphDB, Neptune, and Jena are interchangeable compared to modeling discipline.

S&P 500 Technical View

We’re clearly seeing a shift from an uptrend into a short-term downtrend.

Structure: Lower highs + lower lows forming since late Feb bearish structure confirmed

Resistance: 6800–6900 zone (previous supply area where price kept rejecting)

Support: 6500 is being tested right now; below that next key zone is 6400

Momentum:

Recent candles show strong selling pressure (multiple red candles breakdown move)

Any bounce so far looks like a relief rally, not a reversal

Trend Insight:

The earlier rally (Dec–Feb) has lost momentum…

Greed just broke 17 - If you're laddering out, it's time for another 20% (3 of 5 steps)

Hey everyone,

Just a heads up, the Shiller PE has broken through 41 and has deviated by 17.04 from its historical trend. This is the second time in history this has occurred, the only other time being the Dot-Com Bubble of the late 1990's, where Greed went as high as 22.08 in April, 1999.

Just before The Great Depression, it deviated 16.89 before the downturn.

If you want to be mathematically Fearful while everyone is Greedy, this is about as close as you're going to get.

Enjoy the exuberance.

Think_Reporter_8179 Author Lack of incredible earnings by the major tech companies. If their earnings aren't truly incredible, it'll all fall. We're at the point where everyone is expecting to fuck a dime, and if it's "just a 9 in a bikini", it will no longer be good enough. My analogies might be dogshit, but I think it gets the point across. Only a 10 will do at this point, or the entire market is going to drop. The AI tech has to sell at levels to make up for the prices people are buying at . So coming back to this after Nvidia earnings what do you think? Theres people who say it’s just going to keep running until there’s competition. I mean shit, China was just caught stealing 100s of Nvidia GPUs by the FBI. If they’re that valuable, and Nvidia is like most of the market, I don’t see how it goes down. Again I have no idea what I’m talking about. Maybe. I think the capital transfer circlejerk has provided enough of a balance sheet pop to give another quarter of runway at least. I don’t think end-user AI revenue is an expectation at this point. Whitepaper: The Greed/Fear Residual Strategy

The Greed/Fear Residual Strategy

A Quantitative Model for Timing Market Extremes, by Think_Reporter_8179

Raw data here

Overview

This strategy builds on the foundational work of economist Robert Shiller and his widely recognized Cyclically-Adjusted Price-to-Earnings ratio (CAPE) also known as Shiller PE. The Shiller PE smooths out earnings over a 10-year period to adjust for economic cycles, offering a more stable signal of market valuation than traditional P/E ratios.

Residual Concept:

While the Shiller PE is a powerful tool, it exhibits a general upward trend over time due to long-term economic growth, inflation, and shifts in market structure. To adjust for this and extract meaningful overvaluation signals, a linear regression was applied to the full historical Shiller PE dataset (1871–present). This regression line represents the expected value of the Shiller PE based on its historical trajectory.

How to Create a Facebook Ad Account

Leadsie Blog Article Content

Create a new Facebook ad account by going to Meta Business Suite’s Settings, open ‘ Accounts ’, then ‘ Ad accounts ’, click ‘ Add ’, and choose ‘ Create a new ad account ’. Set the name, time zone, and currency, then add a payment method before you run ads.

The rest of this guide walks through each step with screenshots, and it covers the part most tutorials skip: how to avoid the one setup mistake that forces a painful rebuild later. If your ad account ends up attached to your personal profile instead of your business, you can lose it, cap your spending, and orphan your tracking, so it is worth getting it right the first time.

What is a Facebook (Meta) ad account?

A Facebook ad account is the container where you build campaigns, set your billing, and see your reporting. Everything you spend and every result you measure lives inside it. You need one before you can run a single ad*.

Managed Meta Accounts: What They Are and How to Migrate Your Organization

Leadsie Blog Article Content

More and more organizations are starting to migrate to managed Meta accounts (MMA), but the process can be confusing if you’re encountering it for the first time. 😵💫

Some people first hear the term after receiving an email asking them to sign up. Others want to migrate their organization but can’t find the option to enable it or aren’t sure where the process begins.

Part of the confusion comes from how the system works.

Not everyone can switch to managed Meta accounts. The process starts when an organization receives an invitation from Meta to begin the migration, after which the company's administrators can create accounts for employees and invite them to activate them.

In this guide, we’ll explain what managed Meta accounts are, why Meta introduced them, and how organizations can migrate to them. We’ll also walk through common issues teams run into during migration and how to fix them.

1. About the Project

PDF documents are everywhere, but LLMs can't read them directly. Extracting structured content — headings, tables, reading order — from PDFs is essential for RAG pipelines and document processing workflows.

This benchmark evaluates document structure and layout analysis engines to help you choose the right tool.

What we measure:

  • Reading Order — Is the text extracted in the correct sequence?
  • Table Fidelity — Are tables accurately reconstructed?
  • Heading Hierarchy — Is the document structure preserved? The evaluation pipeline is modular—add new engines, corpora, or metrics with minimal effort.
