Spilling the tea on my content creation process đź‘€

As someone who creates A LOT of content (for myself, for On Brand and for our clients at Cultish) and has reached millions and millions of people over the last few years, here's my hopefully pretty straightforward process you can steal:

  1. Anytime I have an idea, I jot it down. With as much context as possible, so when I’m ready to create, I can remember my initial thoughts. I like using the voice note function for this. Sometimes I go for a walk, braindump for 30-40 minutes, transcribe, and then use it as a structure for a post.

Simran Basit The walk + voice note combo for ideation is elite! It’s amazing how much clearer ideas flow when you get away from the desk. Thank you for sharing the breakdown! 5d ago

Intentions Don't Matter. Actions Do. That's Why Being Ethical Is Hard.

There is a version of you that is perfectly ethical. That version donates to charity, never gossips, always keeps its word, and treats every stranger with patience and care. That version exists entirely in your imagination — in the quiet moments when you’re not being tested, when nothing is at stake, when the right answer costs you nothing.

You are not your intentions. You are your actions.

This isn’t a motivational reminder. It’s a philosophical indictment of how most people approach ethics entirely.

The Comfortable Lie of Good Intentions

We live inside our own minds. And inside our own minds, we are almost always the hero.

We intended to call our parents. We meant to be kinder to that colleague. We were going to speak up when it mattered. The road to moral mediocrity is paved with pristine intentions, and most of us have been walking it our whole lives without noticing.
