Terms of Service

The terms for using Social Archiver's mobile app, browser extension, web app, and Obsidian plugin.

Overview

Social Archiver helps you save public posts, your own posts, and other content you have permission to keep. It is built for personal archiving, research, bookmarking, and local-first knowledge workflows.

By using Social Archiver, you agree to use the service lawfully and only for content you are authorized to access and save.

Products and access

Social Archiver is available through a mobile app, browser extension, web app, and Obsidian plugin. The Obsidian community plugin is free. Paid plans increase server-side archive quota for successful archive processing and related sync features.

  • Free users receive a monthly successful archive quota.
  • Premium monthly and annual users have no monthly successful archive limit while the plan is active.
  • Lifetime users have no monthly successful archive limit without subscription renewal.

Acceptable use

You may not use Social Archiver to:

  • Access another person's private accounts, devices, credentials, or restricted data.
  • Bypass access controls, paywalls, authentication, privacy settings, or technical restrictions.
  • Collect, republish, or distribute content in a way that violates law or third-party rights.
  • Abuse the service through automated high-volume requests, attacks, or attempts to disrupt availability.

Social Archiver does not provide credential theft, account access, device access, surveillance, or unauthorized data acquisition capabilities.

Billing

Paid plans may be purchased through the App Store, Google Play, or an approved web checkout provider when available. Store purchases are managed by the applicable store. Web checkout purchases are managed by the checkout provider shown at purchase time.

Server-side entitlement status is the source of truth for archive quota enforcement. If a payment, renewal, cancellation, chargeback, refund, or provider webhook changes your entitlement, Social Archiver may update your archive quota accordingly.

Your content

Your local archive remains under your control on your device. Some account, sync, quota, billing, and archive metadata may be processed by Social Archiver servers so the apps can authenticate, sync, and enforce quota.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the updated date on this page. Questions can be sent to [email protected].
