The "right wing" and "left wing" spectrum of politics comes from France, where the "right" was the side of monarchy and the "left" was the source of "the people".

The original European power in the country of the United States prior to the countries formation was the puritans, and they rebranded throughout the years and have had control of the United States through Christian Zionism and nationalism. You have always been paying attention to cities while ignoring rural America power structures. They have always been conservative regardless of what party held that Mantle.
