“Take Me to the River (I Will Swim)” was written in just 30 minutes during a Youth With A Mission (YWAM) retreat in New Zealand by Alex Yurkiv and Thelma Costolo. What began as a simple, heartfelt moment of worship between friends became a song that went viral after it was first shared on @furnaceprayerroomnz in 2023 and has since touched millions of hearts around the world. 🌊
Tragically, Alex passed away in April 2024, at only 19 years old, following a motorcycle accident on the Sunshine Coast.

3 things to a practice session approach:
- Learn 30 min
- Always be learning new technique, new tutorials, new songs, anything new
- have at most 3 songs I am working on learning. 2 basic songs, 1 difficult song. Don't learn all 3 difficult songs. Finish learning songs, be able to play them with grace. Learn a simple song really well.
- Don't half ass 2 things, full ass one thing
- Create 20 min
- Create something with what you just learend
- Understand 10 min
- Music theory, learn at this time.
