Did you know that Australians spend millions and millions of dollars every year on poising "weeds" yet we have never actually gotten rid of a invasive species? So realisticly we are just giving large amounts of money to massive chemical companies as we spray poison into ecosystems.. After years of working with in land care, in various roles.. i have to admit in so many cases spraying is the most effective way to manage. But lets all be honest, using woody pioneers like tobacco to build a habit as well as build soil.. Is a far better idea then just poising them.. I do understand each thing like this is case to case but being real, even after you sprayed a regen site you have to go back for management.. Using the tobacco as a chop and drop to build soil as well as also holding a space for other trees to grow, as well as using it to shade out and manage grass for you. Well that is a much better option rather then giving big chemical companies a heap of money while we poison the earth and they profit.. What do you think?
