Finally got my row machine back from powder coating, assembled it, and it’s officially on the gym floor. Tomorrow will be its first real test on back day, so stay tuned for an update.

So far, it feels incredible, and I’m excited to finally have this project finished. I spent about five evenings building it, roughly 3 to 4 hours each night, and have around $1,000 invested in materials, including powder coating, custom pads, linear bearings, and hardened bearing rods.

The design was inspired by the Mega Mass row, but I adapted it to make use of some 1.5” × 3” steel tubing I already had lying around. I also used Amazon handles and repurposed the chest support pad from one of my Hammer Strength machines.

I’m looking forward to putting it through a heavy workout tomorrow and seeing how it performs.
