2016! It's been a difficult year for a lot of people, myself included. While part of me is so glad to be moving on to 2017, I am also very grateful for what 2016 has taught me. Through health issues, personal crisis and being told that I may not be able to do what I have wanted to do my whole life, 2016 delivered a new passion into my life. Makeup has been a balm to my current struggles, an escape from the fears of my future and also a hugely needed creative outlet. It has allowed me to feel true pride in myself which I have rarely felt in my creative life, and has given me the gift of being able to look in the mirror and not see my own imperfect face looking back at me, but to see a canvas for a piece of art I am about to create. What a transformative experience. Who knows what will come in 2017, but I know that life will keep surprising and challenging us all, that will never change. •
