Fermented pickles 🥒
.
These pickles turned my husband into a pickle lover!!! They are SO good, and even better for you!
.
Because they’re fermented they’re filled with active probiotics in every pickle chip (and even the brine!) I am constantly making these at home because my family loves them so much. My son actually requests these in his lunchbox almost daily—he takes after his mama cause I loved pickles in my lunch as a kid too😂
.
How to make them:
-Buy (or grow your own) cucumbers or pickles.
-slice how you prefer: chips or spears and add to glass jar
-make salty brine with sea salt, garlic and spices
-pour brine over the pickles in your jar.
-add fermenting weight to the top to keep pickles submerged underwater.
-cap with fermenting lid or any jar lid
-leave on counter to ferment for 3-5 days.
-then refrigerate. That’s it!
-So simple!
.
I break this whole recipe down in simple instructions so you don’t have to be nervous to try—cause I get it, it can be intimidating at first! But it’s worth your time and effort, I promise!
.
And if you do not have fancy equipment, it’s okay! I talk about what you can use instead in my blog post.
.
Leave a comment below and I’ll send you the recipe I use to make our favorite probiotic pickles!
