After my Ichiran and Meiomi post, a couple of friends reached out asking where they should actually eat ramen in Tokyo.

So I made this list and saved a google map.

These aren’t necessarily the 20 “best” ramen shops in Tokyo (whatever that means). They’re 20 bowls I’ve personally eaten, really enjoyed and would confidently send someone to, especially people new to the city/style.

I wanted a mix of styles, neighborhoods and experiences across the city. Some are tiny destination shops. Others are chains with multiple locations because, sometimes the best recommendation is one you can actually find and fit into your trip.

There’s shoyu, shio, miso, tonkotsu, tsukemen, duck, chicken, seafood and a few bowls that don’t fit neatly into any one category.

The only real criteria: it had to be delicious to me, and it had to be somewhere I’d happily return.

Comment RAMEN and I’ll DM you the Google Map with all 20 shops saved 🍜

martini_momo Michelin is such a scam! Was created to force people to DRIVE to restaurants... using their tires. And they've partnered with Sysco in the US... terrible! Most importantly I haven't been to a single michelin star rated Asian food place worth the money or time to get there - they can't seem to get the Asian places right. That being said i still use the guide to avoid the ones with stars 😂 so thank you for this guide! 20h ago
