I grew up in Eastern Hokkaido, but I never appreciated this region as much as I do now that I have an energetic toddler🫶🏼

The playgrounds here are incredibly spacious. (Unlike the crowded parks in big cities❌)

What I love most is that so many of these places use wooden toys made with local timber 🪵🧡 I hope your kids love them as much as mine does!

After my Ichiran and Meiomi post, a couple of friends reached out asking where they should actually eat ramen in Tokyo.

So I made this list and saved a google map.

These aren’t necessarily the 20 “best” ramen shops in Tokyo (whatever that means). They’re 20 bowls I’ve personally eaten, really enjoyed and would confidently send someone to, especially people new to the city/style.

I wanted a mix of styles, neighborhoods and experiences across the city. Some are tiny destination shops.

martini_momo Michelin is such a scam! Was created to force people to DRIVE to restaurants... using their tires. And they've partnered with Sysco in the US... terrible! Most importantly I haven't been to a single michelin star rated Asian food place worth the money or time to get there - they can't seem to get the Asian places right. That being said i still use the guide to avoid the ones with stars 😂 so thank you for this guide! Aug 4
