Look at my sad socks! ๐Ÿ˜ฉ Do you get this hole too where your instep, gusset, and heel flap meet in top down socks? If so, save this post to help avoid in the future! I learned this trick from Knitting Pipeline on youtube. Thanks Paula!

โŒ Knitting the first instep stitch normally after picking up gusset stitches leaves a gap and creates this hole
โŒ Picking up the bar between these stitches seems like it would eliminate this gap but if you knit it normally or twisted, it still usually leaves a gap
โœ… Try picking up the legs of the stitch below the bar. I like to just knit this as shown from my right needle. If you pick up from your left needle, ktbl for the same appearance.
