Dumb Question- what does it mean when people talk about "reversing their diabetes?"
This is specific to Type 2 diabetes, which is what I have. You sometimes hear people use the phrase that they have or are trying to "reverse their diabetes." I don't really get what that means. My A1C last time it was checked was 5.4, which is in the healthy range, sure. But I wouldn't say that I have "reversed" or "cured" anything - I know from monitoring my glucose daily that if eat badly my blood sugar will still spike as if I have diabetes because I do in fact have diabetes. I also wake up with a fasting blood sugar that is often my highest number of the day (and def higher than would be expected in someone without diabetes) because my liver is an unhelpful dummy. So like, I definitely still have it. What do people mean when they say that they have reversed it?
That is the reversal part, remember to the opposite side, the other direction of (back to doom Town T2D) is still there. You don't nuke the highway, you don't demolish the town of T2D, it's still there (no cure in the standard terms). I feel people should stop trying to label or criticise someone saying reversed T2D or cured my T2D when they made changes, turned that car around on the highway to T2D hell. You maintain your outcomes by keep going in the opposite direction and not getting bogged down with words or falling back into bad habits. The positive changes is not only good for T2D its good for your health as a whole so it should apply to anyone. You don't cure obesity, losing muscle, being unfit, heart and cardiovascular disease, you do a 180 and keep moving in the opposite and right direction Yesterday 1 like
