Today marks a very special day. Almost 2 years ago, I bumped into someone who genuinely shaped who I am.

Matt Dahlia — co-founder of Yes Theory — was one of the first people I ever watched create content. I grew up following him travel through Chernobyl, live with the Ice Man (Wim Hoff), and going to the most isolated country in the world (Turkmenistan). He was a quiet foundational to the reason I started posting content in the first place.

We met on Halloween night in Austin Texas. I was living there for a few months at the time and I decided to go grab dinner at a local restaurant. I sat down with my food, closed my eyes, and took a deep breath in gratitude. Looked to my left. Looked to my right. And there he was, someone I recognized from childhood. To be completely honest I was definitely caught off guard. But I said hello anyway, and somehow we ended up in conversation. I remember Matt grabbing my number before we left, and we met up for pizza later that week. A cool experience to say the least.

He eventually moved to Barcelona where I’ve had the privilege of visiting him twice now. Funny enough this is where this podcast is actually filmed.

Overall, this episode means more to me than I can really put into words. Matt is the one of the first people I think of when I ask myself why I do any of this. We talked about everything from mental health, to male friendship, life, and what Yes Theory really was behind the scenes.

This is episode one. And there’s no one I’d rather set the tone.

If you want the link, comment “YES” and I’ll send it your way. 🙏
