How can I start Fibermaxxing?

I have heard that increasing fiber is basically the number 1 thing to start doing to prevent colon cancer, which is the fastest growing cancer right now especially amongst young people.

I have tried eating more fiber but I have found that when I eat a lot of fiber I get bad GI issues. I've heard this is because my soluble/insouble fiber ratio is off but I don't really understand how that works.

So I was wondering if you guys had any tips on ways I can increase my fiber intake efficiently whilst avoiding GI issues. Cheers

Embarrassed-Brief458 Carb Balance tortillas, beans, a good portion of veggies each meal, and Citrucil (my GI doc recommended it for my IBD since Metamucil can sometimes cause more bloating for people IBD). Apr 4 1 like
Dazzling-Camp-5826 The increase in colon cancer is probably from all the pesticides on the plants. So good luck with all that. Apr 4 1 like
tdubs702 While I agree the pesticide problem is huge, the increase in colon cancer is almost definitely from shit food, too much alcohol, stress, and sitting on our asses (leads to slower motility). Apr 4 2 likes
Dazzling-Camp-5826 I would agree with that. Bad food and alcohol in general is a problem. And the difference in overall health I feel when I get my body moving and heart rate up, makes me think exercise is so good for us that it can compensate for some of the negative aspects of our lifestyle. On the topic of colons, I’ve experienced what a sedentary job can do to your gut (low motility) and fixing it with just exercising regularly. Apr 4 1 like
FirstNature101 It’s crazy how much more organic stuff costs. He could grown his own fruit and veg though lol Apr 4 2 likes
Dazzling-Camp-5826 It truly sucks that we have to pay extra for there to not be poison on our food. And NOW they’re going to start putting the APEEL coating on organic produce. I’m livid. I love apples. Especially the organic honey crisp. My girlfriend has bought some non-organic apples with the appeel coating. They’re disgusting. The longer they rest sit on my counter the slimier they get. I took the skin off one with a potato pealer so I could at least eat the inside. It smelled horrible. It had rotten, mushy, bruised parts that you couldn’t see from the outside. It’s like it was sealed from the air, and it just started rotting. I got two bites in. First one made me nauseous, spit out the second one, and threw the rest of the apple out.

And now they want to put this on organic produce. It’s a freaking crime.

FirstNature101 Wow, I’d never even heard of that. Looked it up and apparently it doesn’t meet organic standards here in the UK so it’s not permitted to be used on organic produce. But they did trial it in major supermarkets on regular produce (some). Only things where you definitely would never eat the peel, not apples! It is a crime pretty much, can you join a campaign or something? Apr 4 2 likes
