Companies Are Telling You That Physical Is Dead

Tell them otherwise! Support physical media! Studios want this to happen because it’s cheaper for them to just send a file to streaming in the worst quality possible.

They don’t want to restore it because it costs them too much money when “idiots” will just buy it or rent it on streaming.

You’re not getting the same version of the film that you saw in theaters. Streaming is a scam!

Tell your friends and family that they’re being bamboozled!

“4K” streaming is a lie.

cli_aqu Physical is not dead. We’re getting some movies which we wouldn’t have gotten our hands on if it wasn’t for physical and the rate of movies coming out on physical is increasing. Some boutique labels like Arrow are opening sub or sister labels possibly due to the growth of the medium. And some movies are only available on physical.

It’s more advantageous for studios and IP holders/owners to go with digital (no manufacturing costs) and subscription models instead of making a one-time sale (physical), and they’re trying to sell the narrative that streaming and digital is the future to convert customers to such models.

The problem is many aren’t bothered and prefer convenience and availability of access to content, until they start getting priced out of the streaming services or denied access for movies they bought digitally because the license on a platform wasn’t renewed (which happened multiple times, the most recent one with the Studio Canal library on the PlayStation movie store).

Local_Band299 Who is saying physical media is dead?

Most companies are ramping up their physical media output.
