Stop trying to "Self-Improve." Start "Environment-Designing." (A CEO’s 2026 Blueprint)
Today, everyone has a "Plan." By Jan 20th, most will have a "Memory."
The mistake we make is thinking that self-improvement is an act of willpower. It’s not. As a CEO in the MMA space, I’ve learned that fighters don't win because they wanted it more; they win because their environment made success the only option.
The "Shelf-Help" Syndrome
We read Atomic Habits, The Daily Stoic, or Can't Hurt Me, and we feel a "dopamine hit" of progress. But the brain is a sieve. Within 48 hours, the Ebbinghaus Forgetting Curve kicks in, and that life-changing insight is gone. We aren't improving; we are just "Information Hoarding."
Passive Priming
I stopped trying to "remember" to be better. I started Architecting my Phone. Since we check our phones 100+ times a day, your home screen is your most valuable mental real estate. It is either an Advertisement for Distraction (Social Media) or an Anchor for Intention.
The System I Built:
I created a small Android tool called DogEar because I needed my "Lindy-stable" wisdom (the ideas that have survived for centuries) to hunt me down throughout the day.
- The AI Pivot: Instead of taking notes, the AI pulls the "DNA" of a book into my widgets.
- Passive Recall: Every time I unlock my phone to check an email or a fight-card detail, I’m "primed" with a Stoic reminder or a habit-trigger.
- The Power of 3: I limit the free version to 3 books. Why? Because self-improvement fails when you try to change everything at once. Pick 3 "North Star" books for 2026 and let them dominate your environment.
My Challenge to You:
Forget your 52-book goal. Pick 3 books that would actually change your life if you lived them every day. What are they?
Build a world where it’s impossible to forget who you’re trying to become.
Most people will download this, use it for 3 days, then go back to doom scrolling TikTok while their "stoic wisdom widgets" collect digital dust Jan 5 1 like
