In this powerful and deeply moving message, Nick Vujicic delivers one of the most passionate talks of his life. With bold conviction, Nick speaks about truth, faith, and purpose, and why finding your identity in Christ changes everything.
Nick opens up about his childhood, the bullying he endured, and the dark thoughts that followed him from a very young age. He shares how doubt, fear, and lies nearly consumed him, and how he believes the enemy tried to convince him that his life had no value. Through Scripture and lived experience, Nick explains how the truth of God’s Word set him free.
This message also addresses the question of truth itself. Nick speaks openly about atheism, belief, and why God is not just a belief system but the foundation of truth. After speaking in hundreds of schools around the world, his message remains clear: your worth is not found in your circumstances, abilities, or limitations, but in who you belong to.
If you are struggling with identity, purpose, or faith, this message is for you.

0:00 Pain is pain. Brokenness is brokenness.
0:05 Fear is the biggest disability of all
0:07 and will paralyze you more than you
0:09 being in a wheelchair. You say you have
0:11 faith in what? In what? But do you pray
0:15 more than 5 minutes a day? When you go,
0:17 [music]
0:18 you put a go in front of disabled and it
0:21 spells God is abled. [music]
0:30 Shall we? Let's get into it. I was born
0:33 in Australia 26 years ago to Christian
0:36 parents who started a church, who
0:38 preached about God's love, and then
0:39 their son was born without limbs.
0:42 No medical reason why I was born this
0:44 way. No warning either. My mom had three
0:47 ultrasounds done, and God hid from them
0:49 the fact that their firstborn son was
0:51 going to be born without arms and legs.
0:54 I have a brother and a sister born after
0:56 me, both with arms and legs. And I have
0:58 29 first cousins who also have limbs and
1:00 no deficiencies to any point physically
1:04 speaking.
1:08 I love my family.
1:11 I grew up in church
1:15 singing Jesus loves me this I know for
1:18 the
1:20 >> and then singing the other song where it
1:22 says Jesus loves the little children
1:26 all the children of the world.
1:30 Then on Monday morning, I went to school
1:34 and I said, "God,
1:36 if you love me like you love the other
1:39 children, then why did you give me
1:42 less?"
1:46 If you're this loving God,
1:48 why do you let people die every day of
1:52 malnutrition,
1:54 poison water?
1:57 They just found a boat. This is real.
1:59 Off the coast of an island.
2:02 400 children found on board shipping
2:05 from China to Brazil for organ
2:08 harvesting.
2:12 Why does God let sex slavery happen?
2:16 I went to countries where it's legal to
2:18 kill disabled children.
2:22 I've been to countries where if a baby
2:25 has as little as a rash, they bury it
2:27 alive because they believe like culture
2:30 that it's cursed.
2:35 If God is a God of miracles, then where
2:38 is he?
2:43 I believe that any person who doesn't
2:46 believe in a destiny after this life,
2:51 if you are an atheist, you are only in
2:54 the 2% population of the world.
2:58 2% of 6 billion,
3:01 the 98% is a lot bigger than your 2%.
3:05 So, let's establish. And if you don't
3:07 believe in God, I mean, all right,
3:09 that's cool. Just pretend tonight that
3:10 you do for a little bit.
3:13 But check this out.
3:15 Many religions,
3:17 many leaders,
3:19 many people who said, "I am close to
3:21 God,
3:23 and I will show you the way to God, and
3:26 if you do what I tell you to do, and if
3:30 you obey what I wrote in this book, or
3:32 that book, or this, and that theory,
3:34 then everything's fine. Let's tackle
3:36 science for now. They want you to
3:38 believe in evolution and the big bang
3:40 theory. My theory is God spoke banging
3:42 happen.
3:44 All right. Now, let's move on. Why?
3:47 Don't tell me if you believe in science
3:50 and quantum physics.
3:53 Why should I believe your theory in
3:56 something
3:58 that no one was there for
4:01 when you can't explain to me in science,
4:04 quantum physics?
4:06 First of all, what's love? Second of
4:09 all, why does a blind man see within a
4:13 second of us praying? We got it on
4:15 camera. Why does a crooked back of four
4:17 years straighten up after praying? Why
4:20 does skin disease fall off incurably?
4:23 And why has my spine I wasn't I've never
4:26 shared this before. I can't believe it.
4:28 This is for you. God's done a miracle in
4:30 my back.
4:32 I was not born just without arms and
4:34 legs.
4:36 And not am I just a PK suffering,
4:39 suffering, suffering. I'm joking.
4:43 But I was born with a rare disease in my
4:46 spinal cord that makes my spine hollow,
4:49 becoming a shell, becoming fluid.
4:52 Doctors told me at 19, Nick, you have a
4:54 thing called spherings. Everybody say
4:56 spherings.
4:58 >> We are so sorry. Not only were you born
4:59 without arms and legs, but this is an
5:01 irreversible, incurable disease where
5:05 your spine will crumble within years and
5:07 we'll have to put rods in your back and
5:09 you will not get up off your back.
5:12 So, we started praying for my back.
5:15 19 years old, I was so depressed about
5:17 it. Didn't want to hear about it. And uh
5:20 prayed for it. People prayed for my
5:21 back. I had about an inch of hollowess
5:24 at the top of my spine. My staff don't
5:26 even know this. And then at the bottom
5:28 of my spine, I had another about inch or
5:30 so.
5:32 Well, the top half is completely closed
5:36 and there's only a pinhole at the
5:37 bottom.
5:39 [applause]
5:46 The miracle of life. You want to know
5:49 what the end of days is? Is when the
5:51 world believes that they're God
5:53 themselves. when they can extend life
5:55 and do this and clone and all that sort
5:57 of thing. Miracles are miracles. Whether
6:00 you believe it or not, it happens. Does
6:01 that make sense? Whether you believe I
6:03 had two feet or not doesn't change the
6:04 truth. Does that make sense?
6:07 So all these religious leaders and
6:08 theories, well, I don't believe in Jesus
6:11 because of the Bible. It's just another
6:13 book. Well, great.
6:16 So is everything else written in a book.
6:19 But if anybody could write anything, why
6:22 didn't anybody dare to say that they
6:24 were the son of God, God in the flesh?
6:27 Why didn't anybody say, "I am the way,
6:29 the truth, and the life." If someone
6:30 says, "Follow me. You can come to heaven
6:32 if you follow me." Well, then raise
6:34 yourself from the dead like Jesus did.
6:37 And if you claim to be closest to God,
6:39 then be holy like he is. No one claimed
6:42 to be holy. Not one person
6:45 except Jesus Christ.
6:49 Jesus is the way, the truth, and the
6:51 life. And this is all the things that I
6:52 was learning as a child. And I'm like,
6:53 "No way. No way is this true. It can't
6:56 be true. Then where is my miracle? Ask
6:58 and you shall receive." Why are there
6:59 only miracles around the, you know,
7:01 around the world in Africa and Asia, not
7:02 here in America and all these things in
7:04 Australia? Where are my arms and legs?
7:07 Ask and you shall receive. Faith of a
7:09 mustard seed can move mountains.
7:13 I had faith of an avocado seed, ladies
7:16 and gentlemen.
7:17 And I knew God could do it. But at 6
7:19 years old, I had a big seed, man, of
7:22 faith when I was 6 years old. And my
7:24 27year-old
7:26 cousin died of bowel cancer. I pleaded
7:29 for God to not let him go.
7:32 But he went home. I was questioning why.
7:39 Nick, how did you live a life without
7:41 arms? Because I know the why.
7:44 When God gives you the why, he gives you
7:46 the how.
7:48 I didn't know the why for a long time.
7:49 And I felt like God had forgotten me. He
7:51 left me. Jeremiah 29:11 says, "He has a
7:53 hope, plan, and a future for me." And I
7:54 didn't believe that. There's the Bible
7:56 right here. Here's the Bible, right?
7:57 Ready? Here we go. I'm right over here.
7:59 There's the path of truth, and the
8:00 opposite of the truth are the lies. The
8:02 father of truth is God the Son, God the
8:05 Sorry, God the Father, God the Son, God
8:06 the Holy Spirit. The father of lies is
8:09 Satan, the devil himself with his
8:10 demons. God's got angels and the waring
8:12 for my soul. When I was eight years old,
8:15 I was hearing them these voices in my
8:17 head. Nick, you're not good enough.
8:18 Nick, you can't do this. Nick, God's
8:20 forgotten you. Nick, you'll always be
8:22 alone. Nick, you'll never have a job.
8:24 You'll never be independent.
8:26 [clears throat] God does not have a plan
8:28 for you. You'll never get married. And
8:31 even if you got married, you can't even
8:32 hold your wife's hand.
8:36 Even if you had kids, you can't even
8:38 hold them. What's the point of being?
8:39 you won't ever be a good father.
8:43 You just give up.
8:45 There is no hope.
8:48 Subconsciously, when you have pain, we
8:51 sort of think, well, at least I've got,
8:54 you know, at least I'm not like Nick
8:56 Voyage. You know, many people say,
8:57 "Well, man, I can't imagine what you're
9:00 going through." through, you know, I
9:00 spoke I've spoken to 350 schools in the
9:04 last seven years
9:07 and one teacher came up to me and said,
9:08 "Nick, I'm so thankful that you spoke to
9:11 our kids. They think they know what pain
9:14 is."
9:16 I said, "They do.
9:20 They do. Pain is pain. Brokenness is
9:25 brokenness. Fear is the biggest
9:27 disability of all and will paralyze you
9:29 more than you being in a wheelchair.
9:32 F E A R false evidence appearing real. I
9:35 want to tell you ladies and gentlemen
9:36 that I actually believe it's harder
9:38 being in a broken home than having no
9:40 arms, no legs.
9:43 I'll tell you what's harder than having
9:45 no arms, no legs. Is if you're in a
9:46 broken home, you go to school and you
9:48 keep on getting rejected. you get teased
9:49 and so then you get a boyfriend and you
9:51 hope that that's going to help you make
9:52 better and you know you know that they
9:54 that you know they love you and that's
9:55 the way you feel loved if you're with
9:56 this guy and this guy doesn't treat you
9:58 the right but it's okay because if he
9:59 doesn't love you then who's going to
10:00 love you
10:03 I need to be taller I need to be short I
10:05 need to be thinner I need to have more
10:07 friends I need to have more money drugs
10:09 sex alcohol gangs I want to be somebody
10:12 I want to be a part of something I want
10:15 to fight I want to stand and I want to
10:17 be countered that's why People go to
10:19 gangs
10:21 because they don't feel a belonging. My
10:23 parents don't understand, but my friends
10:26 do and I love my friends and I know my
10:28 friends would die for me.
10:31 Really,
10:34 I'm sorry, but I'll tell you this as
10:35 well. They're also human beings. They
10:38 also have fear. You can put in a brave
10:40 face, but what's the point of being
10:42 complete on the outside when you're
10:43 broken on the inside?
10:46 Don't try find your identity in
10:48 temporary things. They're going to get
10:50 you to change you. You're going to be
10:52 someone who God did not make you to be.
10:55 You know, the first time you swore it
10:57 was a little bit uncomfortable. That was
10:59 the conviction of the Holy Spirit. You
11:00 know what evil is. Every human being is
11:03 born with evil. And if you don't believe
11:05 me to put two, threeyear-olds in a room
11:07 and give them one toy.
11:14 I have lied once, stolen once, cheated
11:16 once, lusted once,
11:18 many times.
11:20 I've sinned many times.
11:24 You only need to lie once before you're
11:26 a
11:27 >> You only need to steal once before
11:29 you're a
11:32 need to sin once before I'm a
11:35 >> That's why Jesus died. He had no sin. He
11:39 had the authority to forgive sin and all
11:42 the things I've done wrong because he
11:44 had none and he paid the price of sin.
11:46 You want to know why we have sickness
11:47 and disease? You want to know why
11:49 everybody's dying around us who is born?
11:51 Because Adam and Eve, it's black and
11:53 white in the Bible. Why don't you pick
11:54 up that book and check? It's all got the
11:56 answers. Check it out. The bestseller in
11:58 the history of mankind.
12:01 Open it up and see how Adam and Eve in
12:03 the Garden of Eden fell into sin and
12:06 every human being was then born with
12:08 evil and then was to die. This earth is
12:11 not to be enjoyed ladies and gentlemen.
12:14 This is not what God has for you. He has
12:16 heaven waiting for you and this is an
12:18 etern. This is a temporary preparation
12:20 for eternity.
12:22 What matters? What's the bottom line?
12:24 I'll tell you what's the bottom line.
12:26 when I see my maker face to face on
12:28 judgment day and whether you believe or
12:30 not that's coming, I'm sorry. The Bible
12:32 says it is. Don't argue with me. Argue
12:35 with that. And if you want to argue with
12:37 that, you tell me how many things of
12:39 that thing still lines up with Israel
12:40 and Revelations and the times of the
12:42 ages. I'm sorry. There's no book like
12:44 it.
12:45 [applause]
12:50 [applause]
12:53 Where was I?
12:58 behind nothing like it. It was a point.
13:05 >> Give me one second.
13:14 >> I get excited. My hands fly everywhere.
13:15 Then I lose my place.
13:20 >> Favorite identity. Hell. All right.
13:22 Great. Judgement day. That's where I
13:24 was. It's fantastic.
13:26 Thank you, sir. Someone's listening. I
13:29 know you all are. You guys are great.
13:30 You all breathing? You guys all right?
13:32 >> Cool. If I step on your toes, I'm only
13:34 74TB. All right. It's all good. 74TB.
13:37 All right. Yeah. 74 lb heavy. Woo.
13:42 Man, I'm pumped for tonight. Tonight,
13:44 God is going to reveal to you truth.
13:47 Truth. Truth. Truth. I'll tell you what
13:49 the lies are. and you go to school.
13:52 If you go to school and if you ain't
13:54 part of a gang or if you ain't part of a
13:56 group, then you're a nobody. If you go
13:59 to school and you don't swear, well then
14:01 you ain't cool. If your friends tease
14:04 someone and you don't laugh, something's
14:05 wrong with you. If you don't go out and
14:07 drink and get drunk, you're weird. Says
14:10 who?
14:12 Says who? You turn on the TV and they
14:14 say what's beautiful. The world will
14:16 tell you that you're a failure if you
14:18 failed once. and all you're looking for
14:20 is love. There are some people that have
14:23 never heard these words before from
14:25 their parents. I'm proud of you or I
14:27 love you.
14:29 That's the truth. You are loved by whom?
14:32 By God. Created by whom? By God. For
14:35 what? For God's purposes. God's identity
14:39 in you. God's purposes. God's destiny.
14:43 God's legacy for you.
14:46 Girls don't change a thing. Do you know
14:49 how many people I met who has eating
14:50 disorders?
14:53 Boys and girls, men and women.
14:58 Thoughts of suicide.
15:00 I've met them all.
15:03 I've met them all.
15:09 When the world says you're not good
15:10 enough,
15:12 get a second opinion.
15:18 >> [applause]
15:22 [applause]
15:24 >> You want to be a somebody. I don't want
15:26 to be a good person. I want to be a
15:28 godly po person person. I don't want to
15:31 be a good boyfriend when I get, you
15:33 know, I don't want to be a good fiance
15:35 or a good husband. I want to be a godly
15:37 husband. If I want a godly woman, then
15:40 why shouldn't I be a godly man first?
15:43 Why should God give me a godly woman
15:45 when I'm sleeping around? You want that?
15:47 You want your wife to sleep around
15:49 before she sees you? Or would you rather
15:51 for her to save herself for you, the
15:53 father of her children? I've saved my
15:55 virginity for my wife, cuz I found
16:01 God's wine always tastes better than
16:03 Satan's wine. [applause]
16:10 [applause]
16:11 Black and white. Thou shalt not have sex
16:14 before marriage. Sin.
16:19 Don't tell me you're a Christian on
16:21 Sunday and then you tease someone on
16:22 Monday.
16:25 >> Don't find your identity in other
16:27 people. Find your identity in your
16:28 creator.
16:32 Nick, you're not good enough. That's
16:34 false.
16:40 God's forgotten you. That's false.
16:43 False. How do I know it's false? Because
16:45 I know the truth. Where's the truth?
16:47 Written in the Bible.
16:51 I am wonderfully and fearfully made. God
16:54 has not forgotten me. He has not given
16:56 me a a spirit of fear, but of power and
16:58 of love and of a sound mind. And I'm a
17:01 child of God created for a purpose and a
17:03 destiny, leaving a legacy. [applause]
17:09 I was once a sinner, blind and lust, but
17:12 now I'm found. And now I see and I know
17:15 the truth and it has set me free. And
17:17 who the son sets free is free indeed. It
17:20 is not too difficult to get through my
17:21 life. Because God knows how much my
17:24 heart can bear. His grace is sufficient.
17:26 I I can do all things through Christ who
17:28 strengthens me. All things come together
17:30 for the good for those who love him. I
17:32 am not just a man without arms and legs.
17:34 I'm telling you, I'm the hands and feet
17:35 of God, standing in front of the gates
17:37 of hell that I was an ambassador of the
17:39 King of Kings.
17:41 [cheering and applause]
17:47 You want to talk? You want to talk about
17:49 human trafficking? Satan is a human
17:52 trafficker of all. And I stand in front
17:54 of the gates of hell and redirect
17:55 traffic.
17:58 >> [applause]
18:00 >> That is the fight.
18:06 Don't fight horizontal.
18:10 Pray vertical
18:12 on your knees.
18:17 You want to see change in your school,
18:19 but you're too scared.
18:23 Be the change.
18:26 Cuz
18:29 if you ain't the voice of Jesus Christ
18:31 in your school, who will be?
18:36 I can't go to your friends face to face.
18:39 That's why they're your friends, not my
18:42 friends.
18:55 Do you want to know why I'm a speaker?
18:59 Because when I was 19 years old,
19:03 I got up in front of 300 sophomore
19:05 students in Australia.
19:11 I had seven minutes to talk
19:14 and within half the girl half sorry
19:17 within three minutes
19:20 within 3 minutes half the girls were
19:22 crying that were touched and this one
19:24 girl in the middle of the room started
19:28 weeping.
19:32 She was so embarrassed because her whole
19:35 year level was looking at her.
19:38 She put up her hand and she says, "I'm
19:42 so sorry. Can I come up there and give
19:45 you a hug
19:48 in front of everybody?" She came and she
19:51 hugged me and she whispered in my ear,
19:54 "Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. No
19:57 one's ever told me that they love me. No
20:00 one's ever told me that I'm beautiful
20:02 the way that I am.
20:10 When will you hold yourself up like
20:12 royalty?
20:16 What is your faith costing you?
20:20 I met a pastor in Russia.
20:23 Him and his five sons and his wife
20:27 started a church in mafia
20:30 territory.
20:33 You want to know why you know the people
20:34 in the gangs? I'll tell you why.
20:39 [snorts]
20:40 The mafia came to this gentleman and
20:42 said, "You don't want to plant a
20:43 church." He said, "Why not? Because
20:45 you'll know later on."
20:48 God said, "It's going to cost you, but
20:50 stay here and you will see something
20:52 amazing."
21:00 He said, "We ain't going anywhere.
21:06 Next week, his son got shot
21:09 by the mafia. I met this guy.
21:15 God said, "Stay,
21:17 stay."
21:21 He stayed.
21:22 They continued the church.
21:26 Three months later, he's walking down
21:28 the street
21:30 and this total stranger comes up and
21:32 says, "Would you ever like to meet the
21:34 person who killed your son?"
21:37 He said, "No."
21:40 He said, "Are you sure?" He said, "Yeah,
21:42 I'm sure. I don't ever want to meet him
21:44 face to face."
21:47 He said, "But what if he wanted to ask
21:49 for forgiveness?"
21:52 He said, "I've already forgiven him."
21:56 He said, "I'm the one who shot your
21:58 son."
22:00 He said, "I want to come to your
22:02 church."
22:04 He came to the church.
22:08 And God used this ex-mafia person to go
22:10 back to mafia.
22:14 In that entire region of that place in
22:16 Russia,
22:19 there is zero mafia.
22:22 because they all came to the church.
22:24 [applause]
22:29 [applause]
22:32 That one mafia, ex-mafia, went back to
22:34 the mafia and said, "If you keep on
22:36 preaching to our mafia, we're going to
22:38 kill you, too." Said, "I don't care."
22:42 [snorts]
22:44 The first harvest of exmafia people came
22:46 to the Lord
22:49 and those people went out to more mafia.
22:51 Half of them got killed.
22:56 You tell me you're a Christian. You're
22:57 telling me you're living for something?
22:58 Are you ready to die for it? Cuz I don't
23:00 think you found anything to live for
23:01 unless you're ready to die for it.
23:05 >> You say you have faith in what? In what?
23:10 >> But do you pray more than five minutes a
23:12 day?
23:15 Do you Are you ready to let God move?
23:22 Well, I'm disabled.
23:25 When you go, you put a go in front of
23:29 disabled and it spells God is aabled.
23:37 Stephanie, can you come up here, please?
23:45 Look at me.
23:47 I want you to see something beautiful.
23:50 Are you ready? Get my head, please. Here
23:54 we go. You ready?
23:56 There it is. Everybody say three, two,
24:01 one.
24:10 I am the richest man on earth.
24:15 >> I know who my God is.
24:18 And I received the greatest miracle of
24:20 all.
24:22 It's forgiveness.
24:24 I couldn't even forgive myself for the
24:26 things I've done wrong.
24:30 I couldn't forgive the hurt that people
24:32 did to my family.
24:38 If you believe you're good,
24:44 you ain't holy,
24:47 you'll fail yourself.
24:49 You'll fail your friends.
24:54 You'll fail your family.
24:57 And you will [music] fail God
25:00 like I do every single day.
25:05 But the difference is
25:08 is that God never fails [music] and I
25:11 put my trust in him.
25:16 I fail God every day and I ask for
25:18 forgiveness [music] every day and his
25:20 mercies are renew every day.
25:25 I am under construction
25:28 every day.
25:30 I need him every [music] day.
25:44 Two years ago in Anaheim, I met a little
25:47 boy with no arms and no legs in the
25:49 church.
25:52 Just happened to be there.
25:56 My gosh.
25:59 His
26:06 mother came and hugged me and she said,
26:07 "Nick, when I first hugged you, it felt
26:09 like I was hugging my son 24 years
26:11 later.
26:12 He has no arms, he has no legs, and he
26:14 has a foot just like mine."
26:17 Doctors don't know why he was born that
26:19 way. [music]
26:22 When God doesn't give you a miracle, you
26:24 are a miracle of God.
26:27 I was in the UCLA hospital
26:31 visiting a 14-year-old [music] girl.
26:40 Her friends called her fat.
26:46 So, she stopped eating
26:48 for 6 months.
26:51 Her stomach shut down. She's in critical
26:54 condition. Skin and bones.
26:58 She said, "Nick,
27:01 why should I go on?"
27:04 I said, "Do you feel like giving up?"
27:06 She said, "Yes."
27:10 I said, "What if you
27:13 get up on the recovery road
27:17 and you get up on your feet in 3 years
27:19 time
27:21 and in 3 years time you come back
27:23 [music] to this hospital
27:26 and you encourage another girl
27:29 who's going through what you went
27:30 through and you tell them that there is
27:34 hope and you tell [music] them that
27:36 they're not fat.
27:40 I said, "What do you think about that?"
27:44 She said, "It's amazing." I said, "What
27:46 do you mean?" [music] She said, "Saving
27:48 one soul is infinitely valuable.
27:54 You're in a broken home.
27:57 God can use you more powerfully than me
28:00 [music]
28:00 cuz I don't know how it feels to be in a
28:02 broken home.
28:04 You can encourage somebody else who has
28:06 no father, who has no mother.
28:14 God will see you face to face and he'll
28:17 ask you, "Do you know me
28:21 and who'd [music] you bring?
