'Do Come In' say the writing on Tim's doormat. A nice welcome.
Maybe leave your shoes by the door? Especially shoes like these... they have springs underneath. Not sure how well these work. I guess a good sense of balance is required.
Somewhere to sit? Tim unfolds a paper construction that makes a neat stool for sitting on.
A coffee? Tim takes lid off what looks exactly like a Canon camera lens. Inside, it is a cup ready for your drink!
While Tim is making the coffee, maybe you would like something to read? Tim has just the thing. A small example of a 'folded book'. You will have to unfold the pages though.
Tim returns with the coffee, and also one of his artworks to show you. He got this in Japan in 1986. It looks a bit like a paper box. Turn it slightly and you can see that parts of the box have been cut out, however they have only been partially cut and they are still attached to the box. The artist has folded all these cut pieces into a shape. It looks like a beautiful little trainer, which even has laces which have been carefully threaded into place. The artist has made elegant use of the fact the inside of the paper box is white and the outside is a reddish brown colour.
Once it is time to go home, maybe the spring loaded shoes are a bit energetic, so Tim has some alternative footwear. Are these sandals? Well no. They have quite a think wooden base, which conceals a set of wheels. Pull a small lever and the wheels pop out, and you are ready to glide away home!
Maybe don't look back as you leave, because when viewed from the other direction the doormat now says 'Go Away'.
