I built ScanRuler, a completely free and open-source tool that turns 3D scans into something genuinely useful, from precise measurements and deviation analysis to wall-thickness inspection and reverse engineering. With the help of AI, it can even automatically turn a scanned part into a fully editable, parametric CAD model, repair broken features, or design entirely new parts!

@JeffBradway Really cool stuff. I bet you could have a AI agent reverse engineer using Scan Ruler then once youre happy with it, ask the agent to build the part natively in FreeCAD using the same feature structure. 2 likes
