The international match between Helsinki Wolverines Ladies and Birmingham Lions Women ended in a 34-14 victory for the visiting Lions team.

Despite the score, the coaching staff of the Wolverines deemed the game to have been a success. "We were able to successfully get playing time to all of our players that suited up. The Lions were a perfect opponent to test where we are at this point in our off-season. Now we have valuable data on where we need to improve and we have plenty of time before our own season to heal up and work on the areas that didn't go well today. All in all, there is a lot of things where we can improve, but I couldn't be happier about where we are right now" commented head coach Pekka Lamminsalo.

Coach Lamminsalo also gave high praise to the Lions: "The Lions clearly have a great program with loads of talented athletes. Their club is professionally organized and I hope to stay in touch with them and learn more about how they run their team. This has been an amazing experience and we hope to work together in the future."

Helsinki Wolverines Ladies congratulate the Lions on the victory and thank them for the great game!
