0:04 So, what this means is when we first sit
0:06 down to learn something, for example,
0:08 we're going to study math. You sit down
0:11 and you focus on it. And then, what
0:13 happens is you're working away and then
0:15 you start to get frustrated. You can't
0:17 figure out what's going on. So, you get
0:19 frustrated. You finally give up. And
0:21 then, when you give up and get your
0:23 attention off it, it turns out that you
0:26 activate a completely different type of
0:29 or set of neural circuits. So, what
0:31 happens is you stop thinking about it.
0:33 You relax. You go off for a walk. You
0:35 take a shower. You're doing something
0:36 different. And in the background, this
0:38 default mode network is doing some
0:41 sort of neural processing on the side.
0:44 And then, what happens is you come back
0:46 and voila! Suddenly, the information
0:49 makes sense. And in fact, it can
0:51 suddenly seem so easy that you can't
0:52 figure out why you didn't understand it
0:54 before.
