0:01 What can you do? I mean, there's so many

0:03 more things that you can worry about in

0:04 life than a broken glass. I love it

0:07 though. My name is Steve Jameson, born

0:10 and raised in Philadelphia from Nice

0:12 Town, and I am the owner of Blue Soul

0:14 Shoes.

0:16 This is video surveillance of the person

0:19 when he threw the brick at the window.

0:23 So, it happened a couple weeks ago.

0:24 Someone just picked up a couple of

0:25 bricks from further up the street, threw

0:27 a brick at the window,

0:29 threw another brick at the building

0:31 adjacent to mine and um kind of walked

0:33 off.

0:34 >> Yeah, it's it's really broken.

0:35 >> I saw the damage uh and I was, you know,

0:38 distraught immediately, of course. And

0:39 so I wanted my customers and people who

0:41 walked by to feel better about the

0:43 situation. And so I took a boot, cut it

0:46 in half, and I used epoxy to glue the

0:48 boot, one half to the inside and another

0:50 half to the outside of the window just

0:52 to create a visual effect and, you know,

0:54 something really artistic and creative.

0:56 >> It makes me smile every day.

0:58 >> I see so many people on a regular basis

1:00 like taking photographs, touching the

1:02 glass.

1:03 >> It's right on brand. It's perfect.

1:05 >> It brings smiles to people faces every

1:08 single day. I see it. Sometimes there's

1:10 a crowd of people gathered around like

1:11 having a discussion about it. Is it

1:13 real? Is it not? I get a kick out of it.

1:15 I love it so much.

1:16 >> I love it. It's very Steve.

1:19 >> The initial estimation was a 6 to 8 week

1:21 process for the new glass to arrive. So

1:23 once that comes that the installation

1:25 will be down.

1:29 My fascination with shoes started ever

1:31 since I was a kid. Since then, I've

1:33 always wanted to own my own shoe store

1:35 in in fashion.

1:37 The dream came true in 2007. It was a

1:40 year after I had lost my job.

1:43 18 years have been great. Uh it's been

1:45 challenging of course u but the city has

1:47 supported me, embraced me and that's why

1:50 I'm still here.

1:52 Life throws you curve balls. Life throws

1:54 you obstacles. Just you know find a way

1:57 to be more creative about how you

1:58 approach things and make good out of

2:00 whatever challenges you're faced with.
