Architects You Should Know: Tura Cousins Wilson
In April 2021, Toronto City Council designated Little Jamaica a Heritage Conservation District Under Study, a crucial step in protecting culturally significant neighborhoods.
Behind that decision was a collaborative report co-authored by Tura Cousins Wilson's SOCA, Black Urbanism TO, and Open Architecture Canada. The report outlined a future vision addressing affordability and cultural heritage preservation.
SOCA partnered with community organizations to create the report, proving that architecture can serve communities through collaboration and advocacy.
