Why do so many good ideas die too quickly?

It’s not because they’re bad ideas. We kill them too soon.

Think about the first person who made fire.

What if others had said:

“Fire is too dangerous.”

“What happens when it rains?”

“This is not how we do things here.”

We’d still be living in caves, hiding from animals, and eating only raw food.

The same thing happens in your organization today. Most breakthrough ideas are fragile. They need oxygen to breathe. But they’re often killed before they can grow.

So, how do you create a culture where ideas catch fire?

Stop asking, “How can we innovate more?” Instead, ask what’s killing good ideas in your company and how to protect the best ones. Hint: Not all fires are worth spreading.
