It's 7 o'clock and we have [0:19](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=19s) our board meeting to order executive [0:22](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=22s) session that was anticipated and we [0:23](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=23s) actually had one. So here we are. Um we [0:26](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=26s) are going to pledge allegiance. [0:34](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=34s) I aliance to the flag of the United [0:37](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=37s) States of America to the republic for it [0:40](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=40s) stands nationy [0:44](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=44s) and justice for all. Um, and we're grateful to the [1:07](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=67s) custodial staff who brought stuff down [1:10](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=70s) to the elementary school thinking that [1:11](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=71s) was where the meeting was and then [1:12](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=72s) brought it back here. That is where the [1:14](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=74s) meeting actually is. We're hoping to [1:16](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=76s) have a meeting in the elementary school. [1:18](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=78s) Um, obviously it's not. [1:20](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=80s) So, thanks to Joe, staff, DJ and Lonnie [1:24](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=84s) making All this happened almost twice in [1:27](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=87s) one day. Uh we have a roll call which is [1:31](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=91s) different. We have RG joining us [1:33](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=93s) remotely and Barbara joining us remotely [1:37](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=97s) and Rob Samson's unable to be here [1:39](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=99s) remotely or otherwise. So we have two [1:42](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=102s) remote members who are fully functioning [1:45](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=105s) as board members members forum and able [1:47](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=107s) to vote. Um so we are all here as board [1:51](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=111s) members. Um I know many of you um happy [3:34](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=214s) to see familiar faces. Uh I came to [3:37](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=217s) share that uh we are in year two of a [3:39](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=219s) new tutoring policy in the library. We [3:42](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=222s) in a sense beta tested it last year with [3:44](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=224s) success. Um so I brought copies of the [3:47](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=227s) policy to share tonight. Um I'm hoping [3:50](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=230s) that you can help get the word out about [3:52](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=232s) what we offer the library and what our [3:55](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=235s) limitations are. So the policy kind of [3:58](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=238s) came about because we were trying to [4:00](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=240s) balance tutoring and all the other [4:03](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=243s) activities that need to take place at a [4:05](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=245s) public library concurrently. So this is [4:08](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=248s) a way that we can provide diverse [4:11](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=251s) activities for all ages and all kinds of [4:14](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=254s) people at once. Um so right now this is [4:18](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=258s) the situation for tutors. We have four [4:21](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=261s) tables. We have one study room that we [4:24](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=264s) cannot reserve. It's there's come [4:26](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=266s) We have two benches in our entryway [4:28](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=268s) which is even cool and we have up to [4:31](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=271s) four tables in our community room when [4:34](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=274s) it's open. Um but we are expecting to do [4:37](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=277s) a full renovation of that space later in [4:39](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=279s) the year. So that'll take that out of [4:42](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=282s) the the lineup. Um, we also have outdoor [4:45](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=285s) space and picnic tables and we the [4:48](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=288s) library provides Wi-Fi at the Grove [4:51](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=291s) Street Rail Trail parking lot and [4:53](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=293s) pavilion and now also at the Hilton [4:55](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=295s) Barn. We're hoping that the town and the [4:57](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=297s) village may at some point expand picnic [5:00](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=300s) table space and other areas to expand [5:04](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=304s) the tutoring into those pieces during at [5:06](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=306s) least good weather. Um, so the reality [5:09](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=309s) of the situation is we have had to turn [5:11](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=311s) some folks away in the last year because [5:14](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=314s) when we're at capacity, we are at [5:16](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=316s) capacity. Um, nobody wants to do that, [5:19](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=319s) but but we have had to. Um, so I just [5:22](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=322s) wanted you all to know that we at the [5:25](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=325s) library see a need for additional places [5:27](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=327s) in the community for tutoring, school [5:30](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=330s) facilitated therapy services, um, and [5:33](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=333s) group learning. Um, if the library had [5:35](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=335s) more space to build, I would absolutely [5:38](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=338s) fully support constructing more study [5:40](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=340s) rooms. Um, but at this time, there's no [5:43](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=343s) plan for any additional space at the [5:46](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=346s) library. Um, so we continue to welcome [5:49](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=349s) tutors. Education is obviously a big [5:53](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=353s) part of our mission, not the biggest [5:55](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=355s) part of our mission. Um but we we feel [5:59](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=359s) that we can be part of the solution but [6:01](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=361s) we can't be the only solution to pass [6:09](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=369s) >> and I'll leave [6:11](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=371s) the policy. My [6:40](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=400s) son's an eighth grader here at [6:42](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=402s) Mory'sville and I just wanted to take [6:43](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=403s) this opportunity to discuss the lacrosse [6:46](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=406s) program here. Uh, as I said, my son [6:50](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=410s) Ethan is an eighth grader here. He [6:52](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=412s) played modified last year and it was one [6:55](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=415s) of the best experiences he's had since [6:57](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=417s) he's begun school [6:59](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=419s) uh throughout the course of his time. He [7:02](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=422s) played in the youth program here at War. [7:04](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=424s) His grade didn't have a lot of kids [7:06](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=426s) playing. He brought his friends to it. [7:08](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=428s) This past year as a seventh grader, he [7:11](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=431s) brought more friends to it. And even [7:13](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=433s) before the season started, I had a lot [7:15](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=435s) of kids that he's friends with that I [7:17](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=437s) coached in the community as well say, "I [7:20](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=440s) want to play, but I don't know if I [7:22](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=442s) should because there's a lot of kids I [7:24](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=444s) haven't played before." Kids should be [7:26](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=446s) able to pick up a sport in seventh [7:27](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=447s) grade, especially to move their bodies, [7:30](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=450s) spend time with their friends for all [7:31](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=451s) the right reasons. And we talked them [7:34](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=454s) into it. And I think it was a positive [7:38](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=458s) experience. I think there's always ups [7:40](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=460s) and downs, but I wanted to touch base on [7:42](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=462s) all of this because it's coming from a [7:43](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=463s) place of positivity and optimism. [7:46](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=466s) I've seen so many of these kids have a [7:48](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=468s) great time. And I have to tell you, I [7:50](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=470s) think the coaches at the modified level, [7:51](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=471s) I don't know a lot about the varsity [7:52](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=472s) level. I don't have a child there, but I [7:55](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=475s) thought the coaches at the modified [7:56](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=476s) level did an excellent job. They had 30 [7:58](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=478s) boys. Generally, a lacrosse team has 20 [8:01](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=481s) or less on a team. They got the boys in. [8:04](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=484s) They gave them chances to play. And I [8:07](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=487s) think generally the attitude was good [8:09](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=489s) about understanding they had to share [8:10](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=490s) the time and space with their friends so [8:12](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=492s) they would have want to stay on the [8:13](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=493s) team. Next year there's going to be even [8:16](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=496s) more kids which again is a good thing [8:19](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=499s) but it comes with its challenges. Last [8:21](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=501s) year we had 30. We're looking at 35 36 [8:26](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=506s) kids now. When you start getting to [8:29](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=509s) those levels you risk losing the kids as [8:31](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=511s) well. So, we can go from something [8:34](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=514s) that's positive and a good thing for [8:36](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=516s) them to becoming kind of negative, but [8:40](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=520s) not as positive as it could be. [8:43](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=523s) I was a team mom for modified last year, [8:46](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=526s) so I happen to have had all the modified [8:48](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=528s) parents email addresses, so they're used [8:50](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=530s) to hearing from me. Uh, so I sent them [8:52](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=532s) an email. I sent them a Google survey [8:55](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=535s) and I also sent it to the incoming [8:57](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=537s) seventh grade kids that we know from the [8:59](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=539s) youth program just asking if there was a [9:03](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=543s) choice would your child choose to play [9:04](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=544s) modify would they choose to play JV or [9:07](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=547s) they choose to play varsity for those [9:09](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=549s) who don't know we don't have a JV right [9:11](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=551s) now it's a mod 9 and we have a varsity [9:15](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=555s) overwhelmingly I got n you know 33 [9:18](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=558s) responded out of 40 some people I [9:20](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=560s) emailed so not bad you guys know how [9:22](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=562s) surveys [9:23](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=563s) 33 responded, 19 responded like their [9:27](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=567s) their kid wants to play J. And the [9:30](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=570s) reason it means something to me, I know [9:32](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=572s) I responded the same way because [9:35](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=575s) there's a big jump from modified to [9:38](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=578s) varsity, especially playing a game of [9:39](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=579s) lacrosse. My son was lucky enough to [9:43](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=583s) start as a seventh grader. I can tell [9:45](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=585s) you this much. He's not ready as an [9:46](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=586s) eighth grader to jump up to varsity and [9:48](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=588s) he won't be next year either. And that's [9:50](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=590s) not a slam on my kid. He loves it. He's [9:52](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=592s) having a great time, but he's not a big [9:53](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=593s) guy. It's not going to happen. I [9:56](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=596s) wouldn't let him as an parent do it. But [9:58](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=598s) I don't know that it's fair for other [9:59](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=599s) kids to have a kid who plays modified [10:01](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=601s) for 20 years straight and has been doing [10:05](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=605s) a good job. And he's not alone. There [10:07](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=607s) are other kids that are this year's [10:08](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=608s) freshman that are in the same boat. He's [10:11](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=611s) not the only kid who's living this life. [10:13](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=613s) I just happen to be a parent living it [10:15](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=615s) with him and hearing it from his [10:17](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=617s) friends. [10:19](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=619s) The biggest thing when I ask him and his [10:21](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=621s) friends is they want to play with their [10:23](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=623s) friends. They don't care if they're the [10:25](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=625s) best player and they get to move up to [10:27](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=627s) varsity as a eighth or ninth grader. It's about his [11:08](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=668s) academics as well and other kids [11:10](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=670s) academics. when they get a chance to go [11:12](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=672s) be with their friends for a couple of [11:13](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=673s) hours and burn that energy that middle [11:16](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=676s) school boys have, they can sit down and [11:19](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=679s) focus. I'm lucky enough that my son's in [11:21](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=681s) the accelerated math program. He's in [11:23](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=683s) taking our science and space for [11:25](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=685s) exploration this year. [21:17](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1277s) So what our role was um we went in we [21:21](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1281s) did a utility benchmark and took took a [21:23](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1283s) look at your utilities to determine how [21:26](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1286s) much you were spending on utilities and [21:28](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1288s) then we looked to see how much we [21:30](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1290s) thought that we could save by making [21:32](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1292s) some changes. Um we developed a list of [21:35](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1295s) measures facility improvement measures [21:37](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1297s) and we implemented some of those [21:39](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1299s) measures in order for you guys to save [21:41](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1301s) energy. [21:43](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1303s) What's nice about an energy performance [21:45](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1305s) contract is the amount of money that you [21:47](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1307s) save in your utilities is guaranteed and [21:50](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1310s) that guarantee is going to pay for the [21:53](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1313s) project. So all the money that you were [21:55](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1315s) previously paying for those utilities, [21:57](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1317s) you now use that money to pay for this [21:59](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1319s) project and you pay for um new lighting, [22:04](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1324s) new pool unit, some controls upgrades [22:06](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1326s) and things like that that we'll get into [22:08](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1328s) a little bit later. Um [22:11](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1331s) so this particular uh portion of the [22:14](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1334s) project is a construction period and [22:17](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1337s) it's a little bit different than what [22:19](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1339s) you'll see next year at a year one [22:21](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1341s) point. A construction period as we [22:24](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1344s) complete these individual measures. You [22:26](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1346s) start to see savings right away. Um [22:29](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1349s) these savings are not technically a part [22:32](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1352s) of the project as a whole but they are a [22:34](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1354s) benefit to the district. So, as you can [22:36](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1356s) see by the graph, as we complete each [22:39](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1359s) one of those measures, you start to see [22:40](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1360s) an increased amount of savings that the [22:43](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1363s) district's going to see. So, um, two [22:46](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1366s) acronyms that we're going to use a lot [22:47](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1367s) is FIMS, facility improvement measures, [22:50](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1370s) and MV measurement and verification. We [22:53](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1373s) have to measure and verify every one of [22:55](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1375s) the measures that we implement and we [22:57](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1377s) have to prove the savings that we told [22:59](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1379s) you that we giving you all. So [23:04](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1384s) I'm going to turn it over to Kazum who's [23:05](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1385s) going to handle the financials. [23:08](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1388s) So what we have here on this slide is [23:10](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1390s) basically the construction ran from [23:13](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1393s) November of 2024 when the first was [23:15](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1395s) installed to October of 2026. [23:19](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1399s) So [23:21](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1401s) of one year finance approximate [23:25](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1405s) uh 300 [23:28](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1408s) little less than 350,000 KW savings [23:32](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1412s) little over 93 KW and then 20,000 little [23:35](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1415s) less than 31,000 this year resulting in [23:38](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1418s) energy cost savings of um roughly 45,600 [23:46](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1426s) and then associated savings [23:49](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1429s) $15,500. [23:51](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1431s) So the associated savings are [23:53](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1433s) maintenance [23:56](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1436s) cost. So it kind [24:21](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1461s) of gives you a comparative [24:23](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1463s) predictive comparison is saving the [24:26](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1466s) most. And so if we take a look at the [24:29](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1469s) five chart on the left, um the LED [24:32](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1472s) lighting upgrades is saving the most [24:34](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1474s) followed by [24:35](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1475s) replacement followed by mechanical [24:38](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1478s) installation and printing [24:41](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1481s) right and then the right hand side [24:44](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1484s) obviously [24:46](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1486s) work over there. So the high school [24:54](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1494s) so this is the rate structure and the [24:56](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1496s) escalation rate. So the utility rate [24:58](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1498s) that we use to come up with the energy [25:00](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1500s) cost dollars is an annual run on average [25:04](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1504s) cost for the entire year of January. [25:09](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1509s) We are basically using 3.1 cents um per [25:12](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1512s) KW for the high school 6.9 cents for the [25:15](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1515s) per um for KW for the elementary school [25:19](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1519s) and for the gas you're using cents [25:23](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1523s) for the high school and then 48 cents [25:25](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1525s) for the elementary school. So this the [25:30](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1530s) rate that we used in coming up [25:33](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1533s) is from 2022. So right now [25:40](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1540s) the actual energy cost. [25:50](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1550s) So as a part of the energy performance [25:51](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1551s) context um this is the first so we [25:54](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1554s) installed seven pims um so again is an [25:58](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1558s) acronym for facility improvement measure [26:01](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1561s) right it's another fancy word for energy [26:03](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1563s) performance you know either [26:12](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1572s) we measure and modify each of the um so [26:16](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1576s) the f one is interior upgra So we [26:20](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1580s) upgraded existing lighting to LEDs and [26:23](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1583s) then instant [26:34](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1594s) improvement. So we did a comprehensive [26:36](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1596s) gear ceing and insulation project [26:40](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1600s) improvement throughout the school [26:42](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1602s) district right we the doors and the [26:46](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1606s) windows um and this result in roughly [26:49](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1609s) over $5,000 [26:51](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1611s) next [26:53](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1613s) three is a mechanical insulation so we [26:56](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1616s) insulated walls pumps um strainers and [27:00](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1620s) tidings and this resulted in roughly [27:10](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1630s) uh wireless controls. We use a company [27:13](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1633s) called [27:15](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1635s) which in who install blood load [27:17](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1637s) controllers on the electric [27:20](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1640s) for the equipment such as winters which [27:23](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1643s) reduce the operating time of the [27:26](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1646s) equipment and this resulted in [27:35](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1655s) over to Jason. [27:40](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1660s) >> So the building controls upgrades that [27:42](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1662s) we did uh the major ones were uh a [27:45](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1665s) measure called domain control [27:47](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1667s) ventilation where we added domain [27:49](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1669s) control ventilation into um two of the [27:53](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1673s) the buildings for the high school [27:54](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1674s) auditorium and gymnasium. uh [27:58](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1678s) implementing those measures uh resulted [28:01](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1681s) in a savings of just under $900. [28:08](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1688s) For fib number six, we did some repairs [28:11](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1691s) to some gravity relief dampers. So, [28:13](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1693s) gravity relief dampers are on your roof [28:16](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1696s) and as you build up pressure, as you [28:19](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1699s) bring ventilation air into your [28:21](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1701s) building, these gravity relief dampers [28:24](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1704s) um work by pressure will open up and [28:28](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1708s) relieve that air back out. Um, what we [28:31](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1711s) found when we did our audit is a lot of [28:33](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1713s) these were not functioning and stuck in [28:34](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1714s) the open position. So, as we were trying [28:37](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1717s) to heat the space in the building, air [28:40](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1720s) was just going out of the building. So, [28:42](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1722s) we had repaired a bunch of those and [28:44](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1724s) that resulted in a savings of $900. [28:50](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1730s) And the uh second largest measure we did [28:53](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1733s) after lighting was the high school pool [28:56](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1736s) air handling unit replacement. This is [28:58](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1738s) in your nitorium for your pool. Uh this [29:01](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1741s) unit we went and we removed a [29:04](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1744s) compressorized unit and we replaced it [29:07](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1747s) with a energy recovery type unit that no [29:10](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1750s) longer uses a compressor. So we're no [29:12](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1752s) longer using DX cooling to subcool that [29:15](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1755s) air and then reheat it to cost a whole [29:19](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1759s) lot of energy. So now we're just using [29:22](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1762s) um two cross strings of air to go across [29:26](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1766s) a a a medium to transfer that heat [29:31](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1771s) energy. And that's going to still result [29:35](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1775s) in the same sort of dehumidification you [29:37](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1777s) were getting before, but not with the [29:40](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1780s) same amount of electricity. Um and with [29:43](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1783s) that measure, we were able to save just [29:44](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1784s) under $17,000 by strategy. [29:49](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1789s) The other thing we wanted to touch on [29:50](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1790s) was the incentive and rebates for this [29:53](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1793s) district. Um, as you can see by the [29:55](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1795s) quantity on the the screen, um, Danforth [29:58](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1798s) worked with the utility companies to [30:00](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1800s) secure a bunch of rebates for the [30:03](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1803s) district. Um, this is a service that we [30:05](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1805s) offer that we secure. Uh, we work with [30:08](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1808s) all the utility companies to see what we [30:10](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1810s) can do on your behalf. As part of our [30:13](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1813s) project, we said that we would guarantee [30:15](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1815s) $102,000 worth of incentives. We were [30:18](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1818s) able actually to receive $160,000 [30:21](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1821s) of incentives. So, we exceeded that by [30:24](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1824s) over $58,000, which is excellent. So, um [30:27](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1827s) we're very happy that we were able to [30:29](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1829s) provide that for the district. Um we're [30:31](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1831s) very happy that the incentive programs [30:33](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1833s) are still there with the school with the [30:36](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1836s) utilities. Um a lot of those have gone [30:39](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1839s) away since this happened. So, um I was [30:42](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1842s) glad that we were able to get this [30:44](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1844s) project in before [30:49](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1849s) it [30:54](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=1854s) so that that's not a presentation. Um, before I begin with a quick [37:18](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2238s) presentation, I do want to kind of talk [37:20](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2240s) about opening of the school year. Um, [37:22](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2242s) and I want to recognize a few people. We [37:25](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2245s) often think about September as being [37:26](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2246s) like the beginning of a school year, and [37:28](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2248s) really it's not, right? It never really [37:30](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2250s) truly is. And people always say to me, [37:31](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2251s) "Oh, Frank, how was your summer?" I go, [37:32](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2252s) "We're here." Right? There's a lot of 12 [37:35](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2255s) month employees that work extremely hard [37:37](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2257s) um during that time. But even before I [37:38](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2258s) get to that, we have elementary and [37:40](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2260s) special education programs. We have [37:42](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2262s) tutoring programs going on. We have [37:44](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2264s) summer school. We have staff working on [37:46](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2266s) curriculum. So our teachers and students [37:48](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2268s) are still working during the summer. [37:49](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2269s) Yes, some have some time off, but not [37:51](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2271s) really. And then in August, our kids [37:53](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2273s) really they really come right back in [37:55](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2275s) with sports really the second to third [37:57](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2277s) week of school. So there's a lot going [37:59](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2279s) on over the summer. Um, but going back [38:02](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2282s) to our 12 month employees, our [38:03](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2283s) facilities, technology, transportation, [38:05](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2285s) clerical, business office, [38:07](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2287s) administrative staff, um, sure, I might [38:09](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2289s) have missed somebody. They work [38:11](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2291s) diligently through the summer. And [38:13](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2293s) without those 12 month employees doing [38:14](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2294s) all of that work in the summer, we would [38:16](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2296s) not be able to have a smooth opening or [38:18](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2298s) have an opening at all. So, I really [38:20](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2300s) truly appreciate everything they do. I [38:21](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2301s) said that opening day, I want to say it [38:23](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2303s) again now. um there's an enormous amount [38:25](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2305s) of work that happens behind the scenes [38:26](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2306s) and without those people doing that in [38:28](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2308s) the summer in the heat um we wouldn't be [38:31](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2311s) able to be here. So I really truly [38:32](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2312s) appreciate that. Uh we are still [38:34](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2314s) struggling with an operational [38:35](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2315s) challenge. If you happen to see my 10 [38:37](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2317s) seconds on News 10, you'll see that um [38:40](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2320s) schools across the state nation are all [38:43](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2323s) struggling with school bus driver [38:44](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2324s) shortage. We are not out of the realm of [38:46](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2326s) having that same issue. Uh we have [38:48](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2328s) amazing people who work in our school [38:50](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2330s) bus community and our transportation [38:51](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2331s) facility. uh they are the first people [38:53](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2333s) our students see and the last people [38:54](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2334s) they see at the night usually. So I [38:56](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2336s) can't thank them enough. But um we do [38:59](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2339s) need more drivers and we're still [39:01](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2341s) constantly looking for drivers. It's a [39:02](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2342s) shortage. It is everywhere if you see [39:06](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2346s) it. So I just want to kind of put that [39:07](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2347s) out there. Um they're doing a wonderful [39:09](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2349s) job making sure we're trying to recruit [39:11](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2351s) drivers but also evaluating our staffing [39:13](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2353s) and routes and looking for options [39:15](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2355s) because again our main goal is getting [39:17](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2357s) students here and the night drivers and [39:19](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2359s) night things. We do not want to limit [39:21](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2361s) anything that's happening, but right now [39:23](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2363s) we haven't had to. Um, but hopefully we [39:26](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2366s) can continue with the work that we're [39:27](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2367s) doing. Again, nobody wants to drive for [39:29](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2369s) the district. They send them our way. We [39:31](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2371s) pay for training and everything. Um and I know that Mr. [40:06](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2406s) Wagner is having all conversations with [40:08](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2408s) individuals to understand who we want [40:09](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2409s) the district and go. No decisions been [40:11](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2411s) made one way or the other of where the [40:13](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2413s) district will be for spring sports. So [40:40](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2440s) in order for us to play JB we would have [40:41](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2441s) to go outside of our console thanks to [40:43](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2443s) larger schools which can be positive and [40:46](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2446s) or negative for our students and also [40:47](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2447s) transportation is another issue. Um that [40:49](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2449s) comes down is when we add more sports [40:51](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2451s) that means we have to add more runs. We [40:53](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2453s) don't have people to ride those runs. [40:55](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2455s) It's all issues. Um, you [41:23](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2483s) know, over the last several weeks and I [41:25](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2485s) think it was in they said it year and a [41:27](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2487s) half. It's been about two years for [41:29](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2489s) these budgets. Um, there's been a ton of [41:31](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2491s) work going on at the elementary school. [41:32](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2492s) Some of the work was actually added on [41:34](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2494s) the last couple weeks uh by me and I [41:37](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2497s) want to thank our construction people [41:38](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2498s) that did do a lot of painting in the [41:40](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2500s) last two weeks. That was not in the [41:41](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2501s) scope of the project and they really [41:43](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2503s) worked hard putting menes for that. So [41:45](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2505s) did our own people. So personal thank [41:47](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2507s) you to all those people making sure that [41:49](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2509s) could happen. It's a a [41:55](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2515s) self-guided tour on the 24th between 6 [41:57](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2517s) o'clock and 8:00 that's open to the [41:59](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2519s) community. Um there's still a lot going [42:01](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2521s) on right now. We have the pre-engineered [42:03](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2523s) building happening, you know, and people [42:05](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2525s) in the community, my wife has asked me, [42:07](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2527s) why did you put it there? And the reason [42:09](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2529s) why we put it there is twofold. A, it's [42:11](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2531s) out of the line of sight of the [42:12](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2532s) electrical component. And plus, we have [42:15](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2535s) to have our construction truck, our [42:16](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2536s) trucks, our salters, and everything else [42:18](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2538s) go somewhere. So, we didn't want to [42:20](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2540s) build another road into our fields. So, [42:22](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2542s) that's why it's there where it is. So, [42:24](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2544s) um, but then as a pre-engineer, it's [42:26](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2546s) basically a storage building for all of [42:28](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2548s) our equipment that is currently nothing. [42:30](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2550s) Um, I want to thank our community and [42:33](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2553s) our board of education for supporting [42:35](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2555s) this project. It took five years from [42:38](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2558s) beginning to now to get to this point. [42:40](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2560s) So, construction projects um take time [42:44](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2564s) and you'll see why I'm saying that in [42:45](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2565s) about five minutes. And I just want to [42:47](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2567s) thank everyone for all the work. I want [42:48](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2568s) to thank our students and our staff for [42:50](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2570s) all their support. And I want to thank [42:52](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2572s) every artisan who was involved in that [42:54](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2574s) construction project. Um, every person [42:56](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2576s) who worked on that building had a craft [42:58](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2578s) and those crafts allow those people [42:59](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2579s) working on it. would not be able to have [43:00](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2580s) the facility that we have either our [43:02](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2582s) transportation facility and or that and [43:05](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2585s) many of those individuals are community [43:06](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2586s) members who live in the outside area. So [43:08](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2588s) I do want to thank all of them as well. [43:10](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2590s) Um okay schools have done construction [43:13](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2593s) project that they've done. Now I want to [43:15](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2595s) get to my slideshow and it's very small [43:17](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2597s) so but it's on the board. [43:20](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2600s) Um so one thing I want to do and I [43:22](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2602s) mentioned this at the um August [43:24](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2604s) presentation is that I want to continue [43:26](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2606s) to talk about our district priorities [43:28](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2608s) and we have six district priorities. Um [43:30](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2610s) those priorities are supporting every [43:32](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2612s) learner portrait of a board graduate [43:34](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2614s) belonging student voice and engagement [43:37](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2617s) innovation technology and AI facilities [43:39](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2619s) and long-term stewardship and [43:41](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2621s) organizational capacity and community [43:42](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2622s) partnership. Those are kind of the big [43:44](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2624s) buckets that all of this falls into. Um [43:46](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2626s) tonight I want to really talk about two [43:49](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2629s) items. Uh our facilities and long-term [43:51](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2631s) stewardship and innovation. Um that [43:54](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2634s) innovation includes technology and [43:55](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2635s) artificial intelligence. Together these [43:57](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2637s) are really about our um being [43:59](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2639s) intentional stewards of both our [44:02](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2642s) physical and digital environments. So I [44:03](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2643s) felt it kind of fit together a little [44:05](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2645s) bit. So over the past seven years, I [44:07](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2647s) just kind of want to mention this to [44:09](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2649s) give you kind of the scope of where we [44:10](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2650s) are. [44:12](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2652s) Facilities changes don't happen [44:14](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2654s) overnight. They take time and they [44:16](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2656s) compound year over year over year. So, [44:18](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2658s) in the past seven years in this [44:20](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2660s) district, um they've had major [44:22](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2662s) investments into our communities. When I [44:24](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2664s) got here, there was already a project [44:25](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2665s) that was approved. That project changed [44:28](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2668s) the facade of our our middle school, our [44:30](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2670s) high school. It changed unit ventilators [44:32](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2672s) and instructional components. We redid [44:34](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2674s) our tech rooms. We also redid our earth [44:37](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2677s) science rooms at that time. So, [44:38](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2678s) basically, the high school campus got a [44:40](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2680s) large upgrade at that time. Along with [44:43](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2683s) that, we were able to upgrade our tennis [44:45](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2685s) courts. Uh we resurfaced our track. Uh [44:50](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2690s) there's a lot that we've done over this [44:52](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2692s) time. We've done uh instructional place [44:54](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2694s) exchanges, enter energy performance [44:56](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2696s) contract. We've created safe, secure [44:57](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2697s) vestibials in both the middle school and [45:00](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2700s) high school. Um utilizing capital [45:02](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2702s) project and smart schools funds. Um and [45:05](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2705s) we've done networking technology [45:06](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2706s) infrastructure. Basically, uh, the [45:08](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2708s) buildings were spaghetti as some people [45:10](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2710s) called it when they talked about our [45:12](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2712s) technology. We've completely taken all [45:14](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2714s) that old infrastructure out and created [45:16](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2716s) new high-tech infrastructure that will [45:18](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2718s) be able to support the district moving [45:19](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2719s) forward. In seven years, that's a lot to [45:22](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2722s) be able to do along with our [45:23](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2723s) transportation facility. [45:26](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2726s) Um, but as we close one project, we [45:29](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2729s) start another and we continue to kind of [45:31](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2731s) move forward. Um, every year we do [45:33](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2733s) something called a $100,000 capital [45:35](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2735s) outlay project. That is what the state [45:37](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2737s) allows us to do. We get refunded that in [45:39](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2739s) the following year. So, it's like spend [45:41](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2741s) and then we get refunded. So, you want [45:43](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2743s) to continually do this yearly. Um, our [45:45](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2745s) next project is, believe it or not, [45:47](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2747s) steadily at the elementary school [45:49](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2749s) already. And we do this because it's [45:51](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2751s) going to actually offset some of the [45:52](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2752s) things that we couldn't do. One of the [45:54](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2754s) things that we couldn't do at the [45:55](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2755s) elementary school was these beautiful [45:57](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2757s) rubber floors that are now on the first [45:58](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2758s) floor. And when I'm talking first floor, [46:00](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2760s) I'm talking the 1924 1940 wing, not the [46:04](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2764s) kindergarten first grade wing that has [46:05](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2765s) terazzo forming. Terzo flooring is [46:07](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2767s) basically like stone. And when you move [46:09](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2769s) down there, you'll see it. That will [46:10](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2770s) last there for hundreds of years. So you [46:12](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2772s) don't touch tozo and we can now afford [46:14](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2774s) to get terazzo at this point in time the [46:16](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2776s) way that it it costs. Um but those [46:19](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2779s) second and third floors um for rubber, [46:22](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2782s) we have it approved by the state. We're [46:24](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2784s) going to go out for a bid. Um, first bid [46:26](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2786s) is for the second floor and alternate is [46:27](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2787s) for the third floor. So, it' be nice to [46:29](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2789s) have all those floors have continuity. [46:31](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2791s) Also, with the rubber floors, they are [46:33](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2793s) acoustically stronger than LBT, which is [46:35](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2795s) what the floor you currently are [46:36](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2796s) standing on now. Um, they're more slip [46:39](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2799s) resistant than the current floors that [46:40](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2800s) we have and they don't they don't have [46:42](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2802s) any waxing, so you won't need to strip [46:44](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2804s) or wax them. So, the upkeep of them is [46:46](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2806s) even better for the long term of [46:47](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2807s) facility projects. So, it's going to be [46:49](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2809s) nice. Um, our goal is to have that [46:52](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2812s) awarded by October and have that project [46:54](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2814s) done by May. So, I'm hoping that that [46:57](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2817s) can happen with any without issues, but [46:59](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2819s) capital projects have issues. Hopefully, [47:01](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2821s) that one will move smooth. [47:04](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2824s) So, next, [47:07](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2827s) [sighs] [47:07](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2827s) so [47:09](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2829s) will there be a new project? Yes. Are we [47:11](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2831s) starting a new project? No. Are we [47:13](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2833s) having the conversation to begin new [47:15](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2835s) projects? Absolutely. Um, so here's [47:18](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2838s) what's happening. In 2027, we have to [47:20](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2840s) have a building condition survey. That's [47:21](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2841s) per the state. We cannot start it until [47:24](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2844s) 2027. So, the firm that we've hired to [47:26](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2846s) do so, Mosaic Architects, is going to [47:28](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2848s) start that building condition survey in [47:31](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2851s) uh the spring. So, they're going to look [47:33](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2853s) at all of the things within our district [47:35](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2855s) that we need to look at, roofing, [47:37](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2857s) windows, any of those very major [47:39](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2859s) specific issues that we need to take [47:41](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2861s) care of for deferred maintenance issues [47:43](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2863s) to make sure that we can still go. Res [47:45](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2865s) can be very expensive and you want to [47:46](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2866s) really plan accordingly for all those [47:48](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2868s) things. That gives us the data that we [47:51](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2871s) need to understand our buildings, our [47:52](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2872s) infrastructure and our deficiencies and [47:54](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2874s) expected use of light. Over the next [47:56](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2876s) year, this year and into that time, [47:59](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2879s) we're going to really gather ideas and [48:01](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2881s) input. But until we understand the [48:03](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2883s) condition of facilities, we cannot [48:04](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2884s) responsibly solidify the scope of the [48:06](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2886s) project. Um, so I will say there are [48:09](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2889s) things that we want to do in this [48:10](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2890s) project. One of the things that we want [48:11](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2891s) to do is the track. The track is over 25 [48:15](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2895s) years old. We put the banding on that [48:16](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2896s) track uh four years ago when we [48:19](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2899s) resurfaced it. We know that track is out [48:21](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2901s) of work. That was in the old building [48:22](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2902s) condition survey. We know that's going [48:24](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2904s) to come up on the new building condition [48:26](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2906s) survey. So, as we go through our next [48:28](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2908s) project, we know that the track is going [48:29](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2909s) to be a component. We also know there's [48:31](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2911s) infrastructure inside our building such [48:32](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2912s) as our roofs are outdated. We're [48:34](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2914s) starting to lose life on some of those [48:36](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2916s) that we're going to have to function on [48:37](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2917s) those. And then [48:50](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2930s) we're going to have to put it into [48:51](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2931s) buckets. So we're going to have to look [48:53](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2933s) what the essential needs are of the [48:54](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2934s) district, what must be addressed because [48:57](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2937s) of condition, useful life, safety, and [48:59](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2939s) infrastructure needs, strategic [49:01](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2941s) priorities, the improvements that [49:02](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2942s) significantly strengthen our facilities. [49:04](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2944s) And then what would be great, right? [49:06](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2946s) Those are our future opportunities. You [49:08](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2948s) know, when you do a project, you throw [49:09](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2949s) everything into it and you realize that [49:11](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2951s) not all of your funding can always do it [49:12](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2952s) and also the tax burden on our community [49:15](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2955s) may also change as well. So, we do not [49:17](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2957s) get fully funded for everything that we [49:19](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2959s) put in. Uh we are a high wealth [49:20](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2960s) district. So, our aid ratio is not the [49:23](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2963s) same as some other districts. Sometimes [49:25](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2965s) people go to district saying, "Oh my [49:26](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2966s) gosh, they have all these they do [49:27](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2967s) capital project every single year." They [49:29](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2969s) may not have the same aid ratio as we [49:31](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2971s) do. Our aid ratio is a little bit [49:34](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2974s) different. And where they might get 92% [49:36](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2976s) feedback, we only get 62% back. So that [49:39](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2979s) means that we have to take on more of [49:40](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=2980s) that tax. We we haven't done a large [50:01](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3001s) scale project here in some years. So it [50:03](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3003s) rebuild back up. Again, you [54:20](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3260s) don't need to do large projects every [54:22](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3262s) single time, but you the district can [54:24](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3264s) have a really sound plan to be able to [54:27](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3267s) continue this growth for 20 to 30 years [54:29](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3269s) forward using a strong service plan. So I I do want to kind of bring this [54:54](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3294s) up quickly. Um okay so technology screen [55:00](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3300s) time the buildings are going to work to [55:02](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3302s) understand um current use of technology. [55:04](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3304s) They did a survey last year regarding [55:06](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3306s) screen time. Um, and at the end of the [55:09](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3309s) year, each building is again going to be [55:10](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3310s) looking at the way that screen time is [55:12](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3312s) utilized in their buildings, what [55:14](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3314s) engagement looks like in their [55:15](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3315s) classrooms and really kind of delving [55:16](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3316s) into that deeper with their teams. Um, [55:19](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3319s) so we're we're really trying to seek a [55:20](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3320s) greater balance of intentionality across [55:22](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3322s) grade levels and the use. Again, knowing [55:24](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3324s) that when students leave here, they are [55:26](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3326s) going to be in the computerized world. [55:27](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3327s) So, still giving them skills, but [55:29](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3329s) understanding the balance between them [55:31](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3331s) and really having a good hold of what [55:32](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3332s) that looks like. And that really is [55:33](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3333s) conversations within the building, [55:35](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3335s) really having an understanding of that [55:36](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3336s) data. So, our buildings are going to be [55:38](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3338s) looking at that. AI is something that [55:40](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3340s) we're continuing to work on. We have a [55:42](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3342s) board policy. Uh we want to the [55:44](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3344s) administration met over the summer. We [55:46](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3346s) want to bring it to our district [55:47](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3347s) advisory committee. We have two [55:49](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3349s) stakeholder surveys that we really want [55:51](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3351s) to give out. One to our community and [55:53](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3353s) one originally to our staff really about [55:55](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3355s) AI and use of artificial intelligence in [55:57](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3357s) schools and understanding it and really [55:59](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3359s) getting a pulse of what people [56:00](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3360s) understand, what they want and what [56:02](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3362s) their fears are and their comfortability [56:04](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3364s) with that. Um the plan is then to work [56:06](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3366s) on that throughout the year, share that [56:08](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3368s) information with the policy committee [56:09](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3369s) and really kind of build out a full [56:11](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3371s) understanding of artificial intelligence [56:12](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3372s) with the district while working. Um so I [56:15](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3375s) want to kind of share that now as we [56:17](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3377s) start this work because it is very [56:19](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3379s) foundations of where we're beginning. Uh [1:04:27](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3867s) It relates specifically to a nuclear [1:04:29](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3869s) base by being member [1:04:31](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3871s) regarding [1:04:33](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3873s) and the specific part of the policy [1:04:35](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3875s) that's in question is [1:04:38](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3878s) that explicitly [1:04:40](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=3880s) forbids charging cases an admission fee. [1:23:52](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5032s) enough for school supplies or you know [1:23:55](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5035s) whatever whatever that would go towards. [1:23:57](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5037s) Um also one thing I want to mention to [1:23:59](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5039s) you guys in your determining this policy [1:24:03](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5043s) um the most of the theater groups and [1:24:08](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5048s) things have changed a little bit but [1:24:09](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5049s) have done previews in the school. So a [1:24:12](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5052s) lot of kids are being able to see at [1:24:13](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5053s) least part of plays in the school. Um, [1:24:17](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5057s) and that could be something that the [1:24:18](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5058s) school could support in order to get [1:24:21](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5061s) more kids. Um, [1:24:26](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5066s) um, I think, you know, right now I've [1:24:29](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5069s) heard people complain about the ticket [1:24:30](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5070s) prices, but really the adult seats are [1:24:32](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5072s) subsidizing the student seats and the [1:24:35](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5075s) senior seats. Um, but I I actually [1:25:23](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5123s) urge not to redo the I actually urge to [1:25:26](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5126s) do fitness center which would be [1:25:29](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5129s) inclusive for all sports um in all [1:25:32](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5132s) sports and I just when you feel better [1:25:34](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5134s) you do better and you know there are [1:25:37](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5137s) neighboring districts that have fitness [1:25:39](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5139s) centers not just for students but for [1:25:40](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5140s) their staff. Um so it's [1:25:44](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5144s) classes. It's used for health classes. [1:25:46](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5146s) It's used and encompasses many things. [1:25:49](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5149s) Obviously, of course, health sports, [1:25:51](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5151s) which as we're seeing, they're growing. [1:25:54](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5154s) Um, and every sport, there's a lot of [1:25:57](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5157s) sports now that are the numbers are [1:25:58](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5158s) really growing. And even in my own [1:26:01](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5161s) children and their teens, they're going [1:26:03](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5163s) other places and they're and they're [1:26:05](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5165s) craving that that extra. Um, and it [1:26:09](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5169s) would just be so great if they could do [1:26:10](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5170s) it in their own school with their own [1:26:13](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5173s) friends and their own teams and even [1:26:16](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5176s) kiddos who aren't on sports teams. So, you can't have tutoring on [1:30:16](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5416s) property payment and that's where some [1:30:19](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5419s) of those things are like school [1:30:20](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5420s) facilitator will have to look back at [1:30:21](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5421s) that and that's where when students [1:30:22](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5422s) cannot come to property um due to other [1:30:25](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5425s) like immunization issues or things like [1:30:27](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5427s) that but when teachers are tutoring [1:30:30](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5430s) outside of school hours you're not [1:30:31](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5431s) allowed to actually have money being [1:30:34](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5434s) given to a teacher for tutoring on [1:30:36](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5436s) property so that's where some of those [1:30:37](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5437s) things are coming from and we have a lot [1:30:39](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5439s) of our teachers who support and again my [1:30:41](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5441s) children have done that as well just so [1:30:43](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5443s) you know and I appreciate our teachers [1:30:44](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5444s) who support our students and really help [1:30:46](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXma-86_zE&t=5446s) with those extra programs.
