Can the Mac mini really become a portable workstation? In this video, I test a very different mobile work setup: using the VITURE Beast XR glasses as the display for my Mac mini M4. Instead of carrying a portable monitor or using an iPad as a screen, I connect the Mac mini directly to the XR glasses with one Type-C cable and use it as a large virtual display. I’ll show how this setup works in a café, what the display experience is like, how SpaceWalker enables ultrawide and multi-screen modes, and whether this can actually replace a traditional monitor in some mobile work scenarios. Of course, this setup is not perfect. It is not as convenient as a MacBook, it still needs power, a keyboard, and a trackpad, and long-term wearing comfort is something you need to consider. But if you want the performance of a Mac mini without carrying a physical monitor, this combination opens up a very interesting possibility.
