I've lost count of how many times I've been the only man in a yoga room. And I've also lost count of how many guys have told me: "Yoga is too girly for me." What they usually mean is: it's quiet, there's nowhere to hide, and you're forced to feel your body, your breath, and your mind without distraction. Yoga challenged my ego more than any workout ever did. It taught me how to stay calm under pressure, regulate stress instead of numbing it, and be strong without being tense. Being the only man on the mat didn't make me less masculine - avoiding discomfort would have. Real strength, at least for me, isn't about domination or performance. It's about self-control, presence, and the willingness to sit with discomfort instead of running from it. If that's considered feminine, maybe the problem isn't yoga - maybe it's how narrow our definition of masculinity still is.
