Architects You Should Know: Sekou Cooke Born in Jamaica and now Director of the Master of Urban Design program at UNC Charlotte, Sekou Cooke's practice proves hip-hop architecture isn't just theory, it's being built. For his 2021 MoMA project "We Outchea," Cooke examined Syracuse's 15th Ward, once a dense Black neighborhood bulldozed for public housing, then demolished again for highways. His proposal?
